Title: Creative Cloud giveway for Adobe Stock Contributors
Post by: MatHayward on July 12, 2018, 08:24
Hello everyone!

This morning Adobe announced that in an effort to reduce production costs and take your post-production work to the next level, active Adobe Stock Contributors will be receiving a free year of the Creative Cloud Photography plan which includes Photoshop CC, Lightroom CC and other Adobe apps.

To qualify you need to one of the first 20,000 contributors to have 300 files approved or have $500 in earnings since January 1, 2018 with a 50% or higher approval ratio to receive a CCP member.

The first 2,000 video contributors to have 300 videos approved or with $500 in earnings on video sales with a 50% or higher approval ratio will receive a one year full Creative Cloud membership.

If you have already qualified then no action is needed on your part. In the next 6-8 weeks you will receive a code via email. If you haven't met the criteria yet...get out and start shooting and submitting!

An faq has been created to answer most questions. If you have any other questions please let me know.

https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/creative-cloud-giveaway-FAQ.html

Kind regards,

Mat Hayward

Nice!

Is there a way to split apart video and photo sales in the insights page?  I'm not seeing a way.

Any rewards for After Effects Templates creators?

This is great news.
Though I have not received any email (till now) but I am sure this is a great step in contributor and adobe relation.

I already own CC subscription which will expire next year. If any contributor is qualified then how they will be rewarded with existing subscription active?

The answer is in the FAQ Mat linked to.

Hi Sean,

No way to split the stats between photo and video at this time. I'll be sure to mention that to the development team working on enhancing the existing tool with more advanced features. I'm not aware of any program specific for After Effects template creators at this time.

Thanks,

Mat

I qualify for the over $500 part (not by much though... have made $616 this year), but how do I know if I've qualified for the 'first 2,000' part... any ideas?

How did you split out the video?

Agree, a countdown or something would be nice.

If you have already met the criteria as you mentioned then you should be qualified. There are still opportunities for contributors to earn CC.

Not true! We definitely love illustrators! I understand you are referring to Adobe Illustrator specifically but it's important to note your vector uploads and earnings from vectors do count towards the CCP giveaway.

I would have loved the full CC subscription to be for illustrators too.
Because the Photography plan will not be useful for me, the suggestion from the faq is to gift it to someone.

Excellent news from Adobe. Very appreciate  8) I earn more than 500$ and upload more than 300 footages this year. One month ago I just renewed again one year CC Photography plan. But this is great action for others too. I am happy and wait for email with code from Adobe. I'd like to check and work with others CC apps too.

Thanks and best regards

Will the credits for the photography plan go towards a full CC version that I'm already paying for? Like others have said the photo version isn't a ton of use by itself to me, but a little off my bill is always good.

Are there any other benefits to syncing accounts?

Less than 4 video sales away for the full package, so I may miss out on that one but passed the criteria for the photography package 1st half of January so should be good for that..... very nice offer!!

Is this something AS is considering doing each year?!?! It would be a nice bonus to work for!!

Sure, there are plenty of benefits to submitting through Adobe Stock. Top features include the ability to edit keywords on approved content, an unlimited number of assets allowed in drag and drop upload feature, the ability to upload directly through Adobe Bridge and/or Lightroom, auto-keywords and custom portfolios.

Hi Mat.
I got the email, I know I qualify, but I can’t see how to redeem this wonderful gift.

Also, I have a subscription that ends at December. Will I be able to redeem it then?

Thanks.

He wanted to say that as a (vector) illustrators, we don't need Ps+Lr subscription and can't get full CC, because it requires 300 video uploads.

The language says "or": "...be among the first 20,000 Adobe Stock Contributors to upload at least 300 accepted assets or earn $500 (USD) in royalties for the period Jan 1-Dec 31, 2018...."

So if we have not uploaded >=300 assets but meet the $500 sales criterion we still qualify?

@Liorpt "I got the email, I know I qualify, but I can’t see how to redeem this wonderful gift.
Also, I have a subscription that ends at December. Will I be able to redeem it then?"

Qualified contributors will receive a redemption code in the next 6-8 weeks.
Per the FAQ regarding your second question "If you have the exact same plan as the one you are awarded (CC Photography plan with 20GB of storage, or CC All Apps plan) and you redeem the code using the same Adobe ID: At the time of redemption, with the same Adobe ID, billing is suspended for 12 months if you have a monthly plan that is billed annually. If you paid for the full year in advance, the year of your CC giveaway plan will start once your prepaid year is over."

@Pokemonmaster "He wanted to say that as a (vector) illustrators, we don't need Ps+Lr subscription and can't get full CC, because it requires 300 video uploads."

-Duly noted

@ForrestBrown "What happens if my Adobe Stock and Creative Cloud accounts are based on different emails and not connected?"

That shouldn't matter. You can redeem the code you receive with any Adobe ID.

@wds: "So if we have not uploaded >=300 assets but meet the $500 sales criterion we still qualify?"

Yes, that's correct. Though you should still have uploaded at least 300 assets. If not...get shooting right away! :)

@Brightontl: "Great stuff Mat!
Keep on rocking!"

Thanks much for that though I can't take the credit. Adobe Stock has a very strong team and ensuring contributors are taken care of is a top priority. It makes me very happy to be able to communicate with you about this promotion for sure!

Thanks everyone for the feedback and questions. Keep them coming, I'll be checking in all day.

I'm with the vector illustrators and would be very glad to have my giveaway (I qualify for it, yay!) for Adobe Illustrator - sadly Photoshop it's not really useful for me in itself. It's nice news nonetheless, but would be truly great news for us to be able to use it for what we need and work with. Is there any chance to have this changed in the future? :)

Thanks Mat!

It would be good if there was the option 1) Photoshop & Light Room or 2) Illustrator on it's own. That way it would allow vector artists / illustrators benefit from the give away as well!

I guess you can get a single app subscription for $20.99. That mixed with Photoshop and Lightroom would cover most of my needs and save about $32 a month. I guess if you are doing a lot of side work in InDesign or other programs then maybe not. I'll have to weigh it all out.

Well, that's all assuming that you can run 2 plans at once Photo Plan and Single App plan. If not, then back to square one.

Definitely what I think, too. Even though this is a "gift", I won't go through any hassle (e.g. waiting several weeks, making sure that my older versions of PS and LR will still keep working - and the whole "never change a running system" thing) as long as Illustrator isn't included. I do get along with my older versions of PS and LR. So, ... sorry Mat, IMHO Adobe should either do this right (and equally for everyone) or not at all. Thanks, anyways.

In fairness, in the FAQ's it does explain that you don't have to add credit card details and therefore avoid the automatic renewal scenario. It would just run out.

I don't want to tar all illustrator artists with the same brush, so sorry for including the 'good guys' in this generalisation, but from a lot of the illustrations I see... you'll probably get a bunch of contributors make some white, tubby, featureless character holding a sign, and then they'll just render out a version face on, and then one rotated 1 degree to the left, 2 degrees to the left... and before you know it, they've uploaded 360 illustrations from a mornings work. Criteria met!

In all fairness, there is only one way I understand this:
Quote
You will not be charged anything right now and you can skip this step by selecting Remind me later. If you select Accept terms and conditions and enter a credit card, you will receive notification at the end of the CC giveaway subscription term that your membership will automatically renew and you will be charged the regular monthly rate. Terms and pricing will be presented at the time of renewal.

Still it is a nice gift for many contributors.

Very nice gift from Adobe, although I don't meet criteria. Even if I meet them, I am wondering would I be able to get free 1-year subscription and is it worth to look foward to other promotions. I am from Croatia, in my country Adobe CC web subscription is not available, which is pretty big issue for photographers and designers here.

So my questions are:
Will Adobe make promotions available equally for all contributors, even us from countries without subscription?

If I decide to buy subscription some day, will I be able to do it if I get Adobe ID via syncing my Fotolia and Adobe Stock account? I guess not, but it's worth asking.

I know what you mean, but these aren't done by "Illustrator artists". Those are rendered. I was talking about vector illustrations. But anyway: There are *some* 3D artists spamming as well as vector illustrators as well as photographers. Doesn't make a difference. They could have easily set different criteria (e.g. solely the annual earnings), if they're afraid of that.
Plus, if they accept such, this is ... I was just tempted to say "not our problem", but actually it *is*. One of the biggest issues I, personally, have with this industry. ;)

Nice move from Adobe but no, thanks.
I am alergic to all subscription plans.
I bought 5 years ago a high end computer which is still working like a charm, fast like new one. My secret, no Internet connection, no stupid system and software updates which are made in "background". Don't like to rely on computer and marketing "wizards".
For Internet I use a laptop, reset and cleaned every 6 months.

This is the reason there is a 50% approval ratio requirement in place to qualify. In my opinion this is a reasonable ratio  that should be met by most contributors. The exception would be image spammers with the intent to game the system.

Plus, if they accept such, this is ... I was just tempted to say "not our problem", but actually it *is*. One of the biggest issues I, personally, have with this industry. ;)

This is the reason there is a 50% approval ratio requirement in place to qualify. In my opinion this is a reasonable ratio  that should be met by most contributors. The exception would be image spammers with the intent to game the system.

-Mat

... and that's absolutely fine with me, Mat. (I'm at 90% or such, anyway.) But then I understand even less why Adobe doesn't "reward" us illustrators in an equal way. I actually *do* some image editing (both in PS and LR) as I'm a graphic designer, but I spend a lot more time working in Illustrator. So, there isn't too much of a benefit for me, although I easily qualify. :/

Since we're talking about acceptance ratio there is 1 thing I would like to mention. If you upload photos, and then for whatever reason delete them before they are reviewed, they're still calculated into acceptance ratio even they were never reviewed. And ofcourse ratio drops because photos don't end up in you portfolio.

My acceptance ratio is 94% so I really don't care about that, I'm just saying how things are.

One more thing I'll never understand, either.

i submitted about 400 images as soon as i heard about this giveaway, i have about 99% accepted, so that should get me the quota i need to win a subscription

how do i know if i was one of the first 20k contributors?

it seems that these were all given away as soon as the email came out

To my knowledge they are not all accounted for yet. You should be getting a code within 6-8 weeks if you have had over 300 approved this year.

I think I qualify for the Video part CC as I have met the requirements, have not received a message yet, so maybe in the next few days?

I already bought my Adobe CC Yearly plan so It would be great if I can save the code for renewal next year.  Thank you for giving us contributors this perk, since many of us are loyal Adobe customers it is just one more reason to stick with the platform.     :D

Hi, do u know if you need to upload 300 new clips this year or just have at least 300 in your port? I qualified in the first month if the latter? I'm taking a year off to study and invest in Crypto's so I haven't uploaded 300 new video files this year?

BIN that - I just re-read and it said.. or $500 in earnings. Cool!!!

Im sorry if this is of-topic or i should start a new Topic for my problem.

I had a problem with payout on Adobe contributor, it was only showing Skrill, ( no paypal )
Also the currency was automatically set to Korean WON.

So i started a Chat on contributor help panel, i said to him that i a cannot find paypal but just skrill,
He said he can help me, so he reset my account, my portfolio was gone!, but the worst my earnings also gone!  :-\.
he said he was not aware that im an contrubotur and can not do anything, and repeated i should by a subscription, or converse my lost earnings in a subscription?

This is miserable, Adobe has made money with my content, but i got nothing!  :-X

Start a new thread if your portfolio has not returned. I imagine the earnings figure was probaby being transferred. I doubt the Chat is a scam.

I qualify but no email. Since I subscribe monthly to PS and PR, I doubt I'll get one. It's probably just a ploy to get new subscribers. Personally I think 50% ongoing discount would be an appropriate arrangement.

Ahhh yes you're talking about a forever 50%.... Well, in this case it could be good but I can't see any reason for Adobe to give such non requested offer.
Meanwhile, I'm not sure of which software I'll use in 2020.

Just to say that this is a nice idea from an agency for contributors, and I really see no reasons to decline.

Of course Adobe is trying to attract new subscribers. That is their job. It's very easy to get it and do not renew subscription after one year so I don't see the negative point.

Please see the info in the FAQ https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/creative-cloud-giveaway-FAQ.html:
If you have the exact same plan as the one you are awarded and you redeem the code using the same Adobe ID, billing is suspended for 12 months if you have an annual plan that is billed monthly.

Hopefully mine will come soon too then.  I was already over 300 when they announced this incentive, and have had more than 300 additional approved since then.  I would have thought that would put me near the head of the line?

Of course, no real rush as I have had the cloud photo subscription for years, and this will just tack onto end of the current sub.  Still, will nice to have an extra $120 earned from Adobe, and I'd like to know that it really came and the code didn't get sucked up in some spam bucket I overlooked...

Is there anyone else who is qualified who hasn't received a code?

I'm in that situation, but wondered if the codes didn't all go out at once for whatever reason and they're not yet done.

A suggestion would be that in the contributor section on Adobe Stock, they could note that you were qualified/not; coupon issued (and perhaps put the number there as well as in email) or not. It'd save wear and tear on support staff :)

I've heard from a number of contributors who did receive the code in email but overlooked it when it arrived. The name of the sender is CompEXT. Double check your inbox and if it's not there, check your spam folder. If not there either and you are sure you are qualified please open a case via the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal.

Hi Matt - Perhaps you can help me with something. I have a large portfolio with Fotolia that I have not been able to link with my Account to create an Adobe Stock contributor account. When Adobe Stock was first announced, I made a mistake when creating my contributor account and tried to open a new Adobe account instead of linking my existing one. Now I cannot fix it. When I try to create the contributor account, I get a message that "The selected account is already in use".

I have tried numerous times to contact Adobe support about this and keep getting the runaround. I can't seem to get connected with someone that actually works with Adobe Stock. Can you please tell me how to get this straightened out? Thank you.

However, when I was filling in my email search box, I started typint "CompEXT" and the field automatically got filled in with "[email protected]" indicating that there must have been an email from that address at some point. Nothing came back in my search...must have been deleted :(. Guess I will open a ticket as recommended

Okay, I just went on Adobestock site. I saw no way of opening a case, so I went into chat. The person at the other end wasn't even close to understanding the issue. I gave up and asked the representative if there was a way to put in a written request. The rep. said no, there is only chat and calling up an 800 number.

I didn't see anything about opening a case, but used the Contact Us from the contributor part of Adobe Stock, which I hope will get to the correct people

Thanks,

Mat

Yes, that's what I meant about opening a case. I'll look into this for you today and will let you know what I find.

-Mat

Mat, you're a treasure! Thanks.

I don't have an answer yet but did get an update to the case I submitted this morning (and that was by using the "Contact Us" link from the bottom of my Contributor Account page).

Mat confirmed that I am qualified but that my name was not on the list of codes sent out. Possibly others were similarly skipped.

Mat, you're a treasure! Thanks.

I can only say that Mat is really kind and precious person! He check my position giving me confirm I'm qualify, and the exact day when I should had received mail.
I checked again my mailbox: if this can help anyone else, the mail was in the spam folder NOT on my mail app, but on mail server side. If you can't find the mail on your pc check also on server, if possible.

Thanks again Mat for your time and for working for us :-)

Mat figured out the problem with my account - it may not apply to other people though.

My problem was that I haven't uploaded in 2018. I've been busy elsewhere and didn't realize that in addition to the sales minimum, I needed at least one upload approved in 2018. I've uploaded a small batch and should see my code shortly.

Thanks again Mat for your assistance

I got a response back from Adobestock support: "You have uploaded  a total of 19 photos and 4 videos so far this year.
So far you are not on the qualifying list, but you might still receive a code this year for your earnings, please give it a few more weeks."

I have exceeded the $500 threshold a while ago. I don't get it?!? What gives?

I read the requirements carefully:

Either qualify by earnings OR by uploads.

Looks as though now they've changed that to earnings AND uploads - which is why a few of us haven't received the code. Would be nice if the new goalposts were clarified. Matt??

SAY WHAT???  They changed the rules and never notified us, even though we were told that the uploads alone would be sufficient???

If so, I take back every nice thing I ever said about this sh*** company!  Good way to lose support of your contributors, Adobe!    >:(

I'd relax your outrage.  The page says:
"There are two different software plans you can be awarded:

To receive a 1- year subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan, be among the first 20,000 Adobe Stock Contributors to upload at least 300 accepted assets or earn $500 (USD) in royalties for the period Jan 1-Dec 31, 2018. To qualify, you must maintain at least a 50% acceptance rate of your submitted content.
To receive a 1- year subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud All Apps plan, be among the first 2,000 Adobe Stock Contributors to upload at least 300 accepted video assets or earn $500 (USD) in royalties from videos for the period Jan 1- Dec 31, 2018.  To qualify, you must maintain at least a 50% acceptance rate of your submitted content.  "

Note the "or".

That was my initial understanding too.  However, I qualified for that 300 assets accepted before they even announced this, and have more than 300 additional new assets accepted since that time.

But I have not received any coupon?  (I am nowhere near the dollar amount, as my Adobe portfolio was zero until April of this year)  I have also not received any response to my query to them to see if there was a problem somewhere (though the email to them was only sent Thursday, so it might be too soon to expect a response?)

Did you contact them via the adobestock contact link?...that is the recommended method. I had the >=$500 sales but <300 uploaded assets. The response I got within a couple of days was a little cryptic, but it sounds like they are still sorting things out.

Yep. That is how I sent the contact request.  In my case, I have well over the 300 assets, but well under the $500 royalties.

Say I get a photo software code for one year and it expires, what happens to the software? Do I have that last version and no updates, or is it crippled and no longer works?

Sean - while I agree about the over the top outrage of that poster; you obviously haven't been paying attention to previous posts. Have a read and you might see that some people are not experiencing the "or" bit and are getting a little of the "or + and" bit from Adobe.

However I'm confident Mat will chime in shortly to explain the situation of why for some "or" hasn't been sufficient.

Hi all,

Sorry for the delayed response, I had to take Friday off. Judging from the intensity of the conversation it looks like I'll never be able to do that again!  :o

I will do my best to answer the questions listed here. If I missed something, let me know.

The first wave of codes were sent out on Thursday August 16. Anyone that met the required qualifications before August 3 received their code(s) then. A number of people have contacted me and said they didn't get the code. Most of those people did actually receive it, they just missed it because the sender was listed as "CompEXT" and was perceived to be spam. In some cases, it was actually sent to the spam folder so be sure to check there if you haven't gotten it.

The email address the code was sent to is the email associated with your Fotolia account. Some contributors learned they hadn't updated their email address in Fotolia after making a change and didn't think to check their old email. If you don't have a Fotolia account then the code would have been sent to the Adobe ID you set your account up with.

If you have met the qualifying requirements after August 3 then you will receive a code very soon. Likely this week though I don't know the exact date.

The requirements are to have had at least 300 images, vectors or videos approved in 2018 with a 50% approval rate or greater....OR (emphasis on the word "OR") to have earned at least $500 in commissions in 2018. The disclaimer to the latter qualifier is that you need to have had at least one asset approved in 2018. This is noted in the terms and conditions: https://stock.adobelanding.com/contributor-giveaway-terms/

To clarify...you do not need to upload 300 images, vectors or videos and also earn $500. It's one or the other to qualify and receive the code.

If you are confident you qualified before August 3 and you have checked your email archives for CompEXT and you have checked your spam folder and still don't see a code, please submit a ticket to Adobe Stock Contributor Support. You can do this by clicking the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the contributor portal. Someone (likely me) will get back to you as quickly as possible. Please note, I cannot provide support through private messages in MSG and definitely not through Facebook messaging. I will no longer respond to requests sent to my personal Facebook page for this information (though feel free to follow me on Instagram @mathaywardphoto ...yes...I know...shameless personal plug :) )

There are still plenty of codes available to qualify for. If you haven't already met the criteria there is still time for both CC and CCP so get busy!  I promise I will let you know in this thread if we reach the cap.

Re @Uncle Pete: I'm reasonably certain that as long as you still have the disk or the software on your computer for the non-cloud version of PS it won't become invalidated from downloading the Creative Cloud version onto your machine. I have a request for a definitive confirmation of this and will let you know when I receive it.

Thanks everyone. I hope you are enjoying your software and look forward to seeing what you create with it!

While not wanting to reduce the joys of CC on this particular thread - I do think you should know the ramification of using CC for just one year if you use stand alone products.
After the year is up you can start paying the subscription and have all the advantages of CC. However if you revert to stand alone products, you will find that all CC products will disappear and non of your Prem Pro projects will open in CS6. Probably the LR catalogues won't open. In fact just about anything created in CC won't be backward compatible (except generic stuff like tiffs & jpgs & mov files) and the software won't support Windows 7, 8 nor even some versions of 10. So, as far as I know - in practical terms - starting CC is a one-way street - there's no going back...........ever

FWIW, I kept the old Lightroom 6 on my system after signing up for CC a few years ago.  The LR6 continued to work without a hitch... with the exception that the library got updated in CC and was therefore no longer readable in LR6.

Just keep a copy of your current LR6 library when you use the code. If you really want to go back to LR6 afterwards, you can -- but I have a hard time believing anyone will use the current LR CC (Classic in my case -- I do not like the cloud version) and want to revert to LR6...

Thanks Mat, all precious infos!  :)

I want to let you know a side "problem", I post it here as this could be useful for someone else

I'm Adobe customer (photographer plan) before this free offer.
BUT instead of standard plan I had a plus, taken from a special offer months ago: 1Tb of cloud space instead of standard 20Gb

After having received my code I contacted via chat the Adobe customer care to understand how to use the code AND at the same time save the same cloud space. The answer was to activate the code immediately and the cloud space would be remain the same. I was doubtful about this and, in fact, instead of free year photographer plan subscription I gained two subscription plans... one is one year free for contributors with 20 Gb cloud space, other is the payed plan with 1Tb cloud space.

As I can understood, there was no way to exchange plans, and also no way to pay only the addition for the 1Tb cloud space (well, really there could a way to do that, but it would more expensive than the simple plan I had before! So it's the same to say "no way")

Finally: now I've activated my free yearly plan but I necessarily had to close the 1TB cloud space; this involved a lot of work for to empty cloud, and move files to other places, and, bad for Adobe, I'll be no more 1Tb cloud space subscriber... not for my choice, but for strange cross of different offers.

I know it's difficult for big company to trace every single situation ;-) but just to let you know, Adobe gave me a great gift (thanks!) and at the same time had forced me to close the extra payed plan. Also the kind guy at the chat told me "I'm sorry I can't do more than this for you, I can only close the payed plan without penalty"

So for all of you that don't have a standard plan on Adobe take carefully when activate your free plan.
I know, as I read on FAQ, that any subscription planes different than standard ones should be taken at the end before activating the free one, but maybe this is not really clear, also on Adobe customer care side!

And, for Mat, please suggest to your colleague to send more infos to other countries customer care (I'm from Italy, and the people at the customer care seems to be not really informed about situations like these). And suggest to your marketing dept to find a good way to solve situations like mine, so you will not loose 1Tb cloud subscriber (paying customer!) giving at the same time app subscription for free :)

Last: sorry for my poor english :-D I Hope you understand everything :)

I was wondering why I haven't received my code in spite of meeting all the conditions.

After reading the official rules I figured out I come from a wrong country.  :'(  :'(  :'( For what ever reason, my country Slovakia is not included on the long list of eligible countries. Any idea why a European Union country is excluded from the giveaway?

And why is Adobe sending the offer to countries that are not eligible to take the offer anyway?  :o

Hmm.  Im sure i had over 300 approved this year before Aug 3rd (definitely do now) and acceptance rate is 95%+ or more.

Is then any easy way to count number of accepted videos this year other than going through the "date uploaded" manually and counting up to that point?

I got the LR/PS code email but i havent had another one so i doubt its in spam.

I was also wondering why I didn't get my code a few weeks back, so I emailed Adobe on their support page about the question.

Someone got back to me a few days later.  They said that I had passed the 300 accepted level, but that my acceptance rate at the start of the year was under 50%.  I had never read about 50% acceptance rate being part of the criteria??

At any rate, she said that my submissions this year have brought my rate above 50% (I had uploaded a ton of editorial images early on, before I realized they did not accept them, which brought my early rate way down).  I should expect my coupon soon.

Sure enough, it came in the mail a week later.  As luck would have it, the coupon came just a few days before my annual renewal of the CC Photo Bundle was due.  Effectively, Adobe just paid me an extra $120, which is a nice bonus...  :)

Hi Mat,
I live in Poland and my earnings on Fotolia site are shown only in Credits, and my earnings on Adobe site are shown only in Polish PLN. I couldn’t find a way to view from Poland my earnings in US dollars. So my question is: How many Fotolia credits equals $500?. I have earned 470 credits this year so far, so if 1 Fotolia credit = 1 USD, I hope to qualify soon. But please confirm.

While grateful for this offer. Some of us are still nervous who qualified on the day of the announcement but haven't received our codes yet.

Jo Ann, Could I ask you if you've now received your code?  I am in the same position - have now had uploads approved but so far no code has been sent.

Thanks,
Pablito

Not yet, but Mat had said that he wasn't sure when the next batch of codes would go out - I'll post here when I receive mine
I've just contacted Adobe - they said wait another 3 or 4 weeks.

The most recent set of codes were sent out this past Saturday by CompEXT. I don't have the list of qualified contributors in my possession at this time for confirmations but I should soon.

Thank you,

I'm at €494 as of august 24th. Surely that's more than $500?

At first Adobe Stock support told me I didn't meet the criteria, that I was at $494. I replied that it was €494. Then they told me to wait for the next batch of codes.

Now I'm not convinced that the automated system takes into account the difference between € and $.

If you don't have 300 files approved this year then you will need to earn €500 before you qualify. Sorry for any confusion.

Hi Mat, everywhere I look it says $500 not €500. I’ll probably get to €500 eventually but I’m worried that the codes run out before that.

In an earlier post you wrote that 1 Fotolia credit = $1 for the promotion. So it is 500 credits, and not €500?

BTW, I just passed the 300 approved files mark today.

Fairly sure the answer is "no" but....

I activated my LR/PS free code about 3 weeks ago before realising i'd also qualified for the full CC package.

Is there any way to transfer this 3 week old code to another adobe CC account (a relatives)?

I'm pretty sure that once redeemed, you cannot transfer a CC code. Contact customer service through Adobe.com however as they will have a more definitive answer for you.

Yes, there are still codes available.

#1) YES, there are free code remaining. (At least according to Adobe last week).

#2) What they don't tell you in ANY of the blurbs, is that you must also have 50% lifetime acceptance rate to qualify.  49% and it doesn't matter if you got 1000 images accepted this year...

#3) They send out the codes in batches. I think once a month (though I am not positive on the frequency).  if you really do qualify, it will come...

For #2, when I asked them, I was told that I was not initially over the 50% threshold (huh? never saw that in any blurb about this promotion!), but that my acceptances this year had pushed me over the top, and yes, my code would be coming "soon."  It came about 3 weeks later (hence my suspicion of once per month).

In my case, I had initially uploaded a lot of images last year, not realizing that Adobe did not accept editorial content.  Thus, I started off at a very low acceptance rate.  In the last year, I realized the issue and stopped sending them editorial, and thus my acceptance rate moved upward.  Fortunately, it moved above the critical (and totally unannounced!) 50% acceptance rate threshold in time.

Huh? From the OP in this thread:
"To qualify you need to one of the first 20,000 contributors to have 300 files approved or have $500 in earnings since January 1, 2018 with a 50% or higher approval ratio to receive a CCP member. "

(NB, "50%" isn't a ratio, "1 in 2" is. Just sayin'.)

Not sure where you saw that, but the 50% acceptance was not mentioned in ANY promo blurb that I read. And that includes the general news feed I read just today (Sunday, Sept 16) on this subject.  I read it quite carefully to see if I had missed it, and nope, they talked about the "$300 revenue or 300 media accepted" but NEVER mentioned the "50% acceptance" requirement...

Got this promotion giveaway offer some 1-2 weeks ago, finally managed to upload enough files with #300 approved yesterday. Hope we're still early enough. What's next? Does Adobe detect the 300 hurdle or does one have to apply in some way?

Well, at the contrary, it's cleary written just at the top of this thread itself.
To qualify you need to one of the first 20,000 contributors to have 300 files approved or have $500 in earnings since January 1, 2018 with a 50% or higher approval ratio to receive a CCP member.
And it's also clearly written on the FAQ!
An faq has been created to answer most questions. If you have any other questions please let me know.
https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/creative-cloud-giveaway-FAQ.html

Well, maybe you should do a double check :-D and read official source instead of various third parties announcements :-)

I got a code. I read the FAQs and thought it would just start at the end of my current one year photo plan. I had over a year to redeem it. It just started straight away. I have tried contacting customer services to see if they give me a new code or change the expiry date but they don't seem to care. I don't think they even understand about this offer. They just kept sending me irrelevant links.  They have just closed my case and are ignoring me now. Very disappointed. I basically now get 4 months free instead of the 12.

That's a very negative outlook on it! If it was purely on uploads, but you can have uploaded nothing for years as long as you make the earnings criteria. Seems 50% as a way to get new uploads and 50% to just reward people for doing well on Adobe (with the side effect of people getting to try CC who maybe haven't used it before, so they might start subscribing after, brand loyalty, etc etc)... which is a hell of a lot more than most agencies do! Sure they may get 'sucked in' by a freebie, but it's not like people are having to submit 500 items to a selection of free items that make you no money... you're submitting 500 items that should make you a decent amount of money, on top of a free subscription.

Because you might already have a subscription, so if you'd happened to renew in the last month, it wouldn't be that great a deal.

Well I already have a subscription and I redeemed the offer straight away, which pauses my billing for 12 months. I knew that would happen as I read the FAQ's... I think I remember it saying that won't work if you're on an annual-paid subscription or if you have a subscription that differs from what you've won.

So it IS possible to gift a code to someone.

A question for Mat or anyone that knows...

I received the code, thanks.

But I am still using LR 5.7.1 and PS Elements 12, because I don't like subscriptions and the cloud...
I like to buy a perpetual licence and use it as long as possible.

Should I decide to try it just because it's free, can I install it alongside the current perpetual versions? (in Windows 7 Pro 64 bit)

You can install multiple versions of Adobe software on the same machine. I once had Photoshop CS6, CC 2014 and CC2015 installed side by side, and it worked fine.

What happens when a subscription ends? No software, everything stops working. I've read that the cloud storage stays for a year, so good news you don't get locked out of your own files.

Is the subscription by month or actual date? If I subscribe today will it end Oct. 31st 2019 or Oct. 4th 2018?

Is the subscription by month or actual date? If I subscribe today will it end Oct. 31st 2019 or Oct. 4th 2018?

This Scott Kelby article does a good job answering your question: https://lightroomkillertips.com/happens-cancel-lightroom-cc-subscription/

-Mat
Good news, it seems working now.
But as Scott Kelly is not Adobe's employee his foundings are not reliable. Is there any official statement from Adobe?
Will it work in the futur as well?

I'm not the best source of information for Creative Cloud questions. I recommend you contact customer service through Adobe.com with any specific questions you have about your subscription.

Sorry I can't be more help on this.

Never got my code and am well passed the requirements

I haven't received my code either. I did contact support earlier and supposedly I'd be in the next batch. But if another batch has gone out - ccbcc mentioned receiving one this week - then I'm puzzled.

Thanks for your patience,

Many thanks for the assistance.

Hi Mat,
I´m a video contributor and have met the requirements around Feb. 16th. But I didn´t receive an Email yet. May I ask for your help? In fact, I had just renewed my subscription plan a few days ago - I´m using a different email for that though.
Thanks and all the best,

I suggest you contact Adobe Contributor Support. I used this contact form: https://contributor.stock.adobe.com/uk/contact

I got a quick email back that I was eligible and on the list for the next wave of emails that are being sent out, so I'm eagerly waiting :)

A heads-up for people who haven't yet received their code, check your spam folder (perhaps even your trash)!

It sounds obvious, and Mat has already mentioned this, but the code email comes from CompEXT (Subject: Your Creative Cloud Individual Code). IE it's not from Adobe and doesn't mention Adobe in the subject line.

I almost inadvertently sent it into trash!

Fantastic idea BTW :)

Received an email with the offer yesterday so downloaded CC.

Tried it and hate the current version of Photoshop, Lightroom is no different apart from a few teaks.

It also loads so many processes in the background it just slows the whole system up.

Certainly not worth the $120 per year they expect you to pay.

I reckon I'll delete the whole lot and revert to my previous set up/stand alone software

Hay Mat don't know if you know the answer to this but I received the video cc package with all apps (including photoshop) and also the photoshop package for the photography package as I'm both a video and photo contributor.
So my question is as I now have 2 photoshop cc packages can I give one to a family or friend. Is my name on it somewhere in the adobe system where they will need to change it?

Thanks

Hello I'm not Mat  ;) but the original announcement said or give to a friend. I know someone who got the code, gave it to a friend, and he installed it, worked fine, no ID association. Since that's a real life situation, I'm proposing that you can give the code away and there's nothing that says who it was originally sent to. Good for one person, one Adobe account, up to two personal computers, just like the rest of Adobe software.

And to answer a question I asked before and no one seemed to know. If you register today it's good for one year to date, to the day, not by month or week or anything else.

This is just data mining on a grand scale.  Even if you tell CC not to load at start up Adobe still have processes running in the background which is not on!

I had to go thru Windows services and switch all the hidden processes to manual start instead of automatic start.

It's slow and and memory gobbler.

It's being deleted today

While I am trying to upload enough photos to get this offer, sometimes I am becoming really angry. My earnings started falling when Adobe Stock showed up and never recovered. Now I am earning one third from my 2015 earnings.

So I feel like someone robbed me first and now is graciously willing to give me one thing back, but only if I earn it. Thanks, Adobe.

I have a different experience. I'm experiencing growing sales. I guess it depends on your niche and the demand for your work. So it's not fair to solely blame Adobe for your loss of earnings, let alone compare it to a robbery.

Did you do this? I'm sure that Mat will be able to check for you.

To qualify you need to one of the first 20,000 contributors to have 300 files approved or have $500 in earnings since January 1, 2018 with a 50% or higher approval ratio to receive a CCP member.

I just re-posted the easy part in case someone is new or hasn't noticed before.  :)

The CCP software is exactly one year, to the date you register, free cloud storage lasts longer. It includes PS, LR, LR Classic, Bridge CC, a trial of Premier Rush video - (three free trial), Portfolio, Spark, Behance (I have no clue what they are or do) and XD CC "Adobe Experience Design CC, or Adobe XD, is a lightweight vector graphics editor and prototyping tool"

Thanks Adobe

Just because you hit 300 doesn't mean you have earned the coupon...

I have never seen this in ANY of the announcements for this award, but it turns out you also must have at least 50% acceptance rate to qualify.  If you have 300 accepted, but have submitted 700 (and been rejected on 400), you will not get the award.

I only learned this when several months had gone by without my getting the award. I emailed them, and they responded that my acceptance was too low (and said that it had just gone above 50% that week, so I would now get it, which I did a couple weeks later).

In my case, I submitted a bunch of editorial images early in the year, to see if they would accept them.  Of course they rejected most (as I expected), but took maybe 20% of those.  Only later, when this award was announced, I found I had almost cost myself getting one...

The mail address name is from CompEXT, not Adobe Stock. Mine came in fine to my inbox, but you may want to keep an eye out. I almost missed it as I've been looking for the usual Adobe Stock.

As far as I know all codes have been emailed already. Yes, you could have qualified for the full CC with video after having received a code for CCP previously. If you think you had qualified but never received the code, please submit a ticket via the contact us link found at the bottom of the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal.

Kudos to Adobe stock
They raised contributers royalties and gave out free software  for a year to those who qualified ( and the terms were very reasonable!)

The only MS site I know of that went opposite of slashing and hacking away whatever is left for contributers in this industry these days

THANK YOU ADOBE!!

Try Davinci Resolve to break the chain of servitude. I dropped Premiere Pro and glad I did, Resolve does everything I need and does not force you into a strangle hold cloud plan... worth checking out.

Not that much anymore :D though it was 100% expected. And it will constantly increase, no doubts.

I have free subscription by AS, but still mostly use my LR Classic and if they won't give away CC for contributors next year, I probably won't pay.

Well, untill my old LR works... if it won't then there is no alternative for DAM. And it would be impossible for me to manage my workflow without Lightroom, absolutely no way.

I've spent the whole day trying to work with Davinci Resolve and really struggled with it - apart from the colour correction features which were a joy to use. I've downloaded a 7 day trial of the latest Premiere Pro and I'll compare side by side tomorrow and decide which way I go. I'd like to go with Resolve, as I hate the fact that I can't own the Creative Suite as I used to - I've only paid for Photoshop until now, and stayed with old versions of Illustrator, After Effects and Premiere Pro.

Remember this is a test phase

It’s like gasoline - they jack up the price, everyone moans, then it comes down a little and everyone thinks it’s a bargain

I bet Adobe will roll back the price to $15/ month and most people will remain with them

There certainly is a learning curve... just like Premiere the first time. I spent a day just going through Youtube videos and how to's and now find Resolve to be acceptable. At this point I only use the free version and that said I am only doing basic editing, clipping, and color correction. I was used to Premiere and could zing through my workflow, and am fairly certain I will zing through with a bit of training on Resolve and save $$$ in the process with the same results.

Remember this is a test phase

It’s like gasoline - they jack up the price, everyone moans, then it comes down a little and everyone thinks it’s a bargain

I bet Adobe will roll back the price to $15/ month and most people will remain with them

FWAK  you know what 'without a kiss'.

I have the 'free year' for Photoshop/Lightroom, which runs until sometime later this year.

What happens if I wish to upgrade to the whole CC package? I can't cope with Premiere Pro CS6 any longer!

Try Davinci Resolve to break the chain of servitude. I dropped Premiere Pro and glad I did, Resolve does everything I need and does not force you into a strangle hold cloud plan... worth checking out.

Yes, but I set myself a task that I can do in 10 minutes in Premiere Pro and, even with the help of video tutorials, I can't yet get the same result in Davinci. I will give it another go today, as I maybe just need to get my head around it.

Nope  :D ... everyone must have been very vocal as they've added the £9.99 package back... in addition to the other £19.99 one.

This seems to be a better approach. Provide the bigger package (more space etc) for those that need it but keep the original one for those that don't. One size doesn't fit all in this case and thankfully, they realised that.

What exactly is it that you are having difficulty replicating in Resolve?

I was following a tutorial to remove some dust spots from a sky. The instructions effectively made a new layer with a small inverted mask, and I moved the layer underneath slightly to shift the dust under the mask.

This worked for one spot but, other than saving and reopening, I couldn't figure out a way to do it for a second or third spot, as I couldn't find a way to flatten or link the first two layers together.

I am by no means an expert, but I think you could set up multiple masks on the same "layer" or node. If that doesn't work, you could add additional nodes. I think if you kept them on the same node, all displacements or tracking movements would be identical. Again, I could be totally wrong, but that's what I would try.

Thanks for trying to help but I tried that and, because the mask was inverted, and effectively made a hole through to the bottom layer, if I made multiple masks I has multiple holes, so moving the bottom layer meant everything had to line up.

What I needed to do somehow was link the two layers together then add a new layer above for the second dust spot. I didn't find a way.

OK, I've just upgraded to the full Adobe package, and asked on the live chat whether I could have credit for the remaining months on the free offer.

This is the answer I got:

"I really apologize for that you have to cancel your subscription and after that you can purchase that subscription in which you will get free PS/LR."

I tried to continue the conversation - do I need to cancel the PS/LR package or the new package?? But no one is answering me.

I am going away tomorrow, so will probably have to revisit this when I get back, but I can't be the only person to upgrade who has had to deal with this? Does anyone know of an easy solution?

Baiting…
They give it for "free"*
Then they double the price
Just baiting…

*remember, "If You're Not Paying For It, You Become The Product"

Microstock was based on WOO YAY. WOO YAY I sold a photo via microstock and got a few pennies. Or another approach is WOO YAY I had to sell 30 photos to pay for my monthly Adobe subscription.

Hi Mat, as a Creative Cloud user and Adobe Stock contributor this is a great offer. Is there anything we need to do to qualify once we have met the 300 submissions or $500 of earnings threshold?

Thanks

As long as Adobe free subscription / giveaway etc is discussed
I would like to express a complaint on the last (last year) editing challenge.
Greece (EU) was left out of the major contest.
:(

You can often (athough not always) get an idea of how old a thread is by the number of pages it has reached. In this case, it's 12. :)

Just wanted to say thank, Adobe.

I upgraded and was given a couple of month free, to compensate for the loss of the remaining months on my 'free' year.

Good customer relations, which is much more than can be said for most stock sites these days!

I have a user code for the free Offer, but when I go to place my order there doesn't appear to be any box for inserting the code (or for any coupon) - just boxes for credit card details.

Okay, I found that I had to click on the specific link in the email.  Did that, inserted my code, and got the message 'your code has expired'.  Hmmm...

Yet in the email and on Adobe's web site it says the offer code is valid until July 2021.  But in the offer FAQ official rules it says it expires 31/12/2018.

It may be that once  you have the code it will expire July 2021, but the offer to get the code expired on x/x/2018. Yes, doesn't really make sense, but might be the "reason"

At the end of last year I received a reminder email about my free year offer code (because I haven't yet redeemed it) and after repeating the code and instructions on how to use it, there is this:

"You have until July 2021 to redeem it."

That's unambiguous. If you're experiencing a bug that's preventing you from using it, I'm guessing support is the route to go (and Mat if that doesn't produce success).

Actually, it would be downright appreciated!

Not to mention making us contributors predisposed to send our best work to Adobe. :D
