Title: Downturn in Sales
Post by: umdash9 on January 11, 2017, 05:59
Has anybody else had a sharp downturn in sales over the last 6 weeks i've experience a 65% downturn in sales. I've only been selling on Fotolia for a year is this a seasonal thing.

This time of year is always terrible and/or unpredictable.

I would reevaluate in a couple of months.

FT gives you more info about this than other sites because you can track your weekly ranking. There's a lot of variability in that number but it can give you a general sense of whether you are the only one seeing a drop (your sales drop and your weekly ranking goes down) or whether everyone is experiencing a drop (your sales drop and your ranking stays consistent).

In general, it's useless to fret about ups and downs. They are going to happen. Do good work and don't expect too much from the business.

I had a BME there last month and this month is definitely way slower - so far slower than the averages from all last year.  Hopefully it will pick up the next couple of weeks.

The holidays hasn't been kind, unless you have a lot of Holiday and New Years related images. January will be worse than November for most people, but February is usually the moth that goes back to normal.

In general you have it like it is and has been for many years. Next year somebody else will ask the same question and get the same answers.
