It seems with all the other controversy that Fotolia have gotten behind in payouts again.

I have one pending from Feb 9.  Anyone else waiting a long time for a payout?

Nearly 3pm EST and still waiting.  This is really frustrating.  Especially since people who requested payouts days later have already gotten them :(

Those of you who requested the 12th, 13th etc. and have already gotten paid - what payout method are you using?

I am wondering if maybe they have a problem with paypal or something, but if those lucky folks who have gotten paid are also using paypal then it must be some other reason.

Me too.  FINALLY!  I am really relieved.

I hate to see the balance build up too much without being able to request payout.  If we were able to make regular payout requests instead of waiting for the last one to clear it wouldn't be as much of a problem.

Anyway, to Chad and to Mat for their help - Many thanks!  You guys are very much appreciated.

I don't think your problem is Paypal because my request was through Paypal. On Friday, after receiving the payout requested on the 13th, I put in another payout request and it came through yesterday so that's about 24hours wait.

The last time I requested for a payout about 3 weeks ago, it was pending for 5 days (business days). When I emailed them about it, I received a standard reply of how it could take anywhere from a week to a few weeks....... Anyway, half an hour after I received that reply, the money was sent by Paypal.

In the past it has always been 1-3 days at most. The last one was the longest. I am in the US.

Try emailing them if you have not.

I got one on the 23rd too but I had requested it on the 13th. They seem to send money e.g. three times a month or something like this - so if you are lucky and request your payment a few days before the "payday", you will get it almost at once; if you are unlucky and ask shortly after the "payday", you will wait a week or two...

How long does it usually take to get a payment from fotolia after it's been requested??
I requested it on June 12, I know that's not really that long ago but usually I get them in a matter of days from the other sites.
First pay out from Fotolia ;D

Relax.

Fotolia WILL pay you. No matter how upset everyone gets - they will pay you sooner or later.

All it matters is THAT they pay - isn't it?

Sometimes it takes a day, sometimes a week or a little more. Who cares?

Here we go again.  Over 10 days waiting for a payout on Fotolia.

Just got off the phone with support and they are now saying that the "normal" wait is 2-3 weeks??  When did that become normal?

Last time it took this long to get a payout there for me was in February and at that time it turned out my payout had been missed.  If not for Chad sorting it out I would STILL be waiting for that payout ;)

Interesting.  Mine (finally) arrived today after contacting support also.

Are we getting to the point where we have to complain to support just to get payouts anymore?

Curious if this is a trend or you and I are just uniquely unlucky in some way.

FWIW I have been waiting since the 3rd for a payout from StockXpert.  There is a thread in their forums with lots of other people waiting for just as long.

And I have been waiting since JULY 9TH for a payout on Crestock.

what is up with these sites?!  It shouldn't be this hard to get paid for our images!

I'm wondering if it's partially a timing issue, with agencies making payments in large batches.  I've made it a habit to request payments on the 1st.  This month I got PayPal notification from StockXpert on the 3rd, from Dreamstime and CanStock on the 4th, from Fotolia on the 6th, and from Shutterstock, iStockphoto and BigStock on the 10th.  In the case of BigStock, I made my request on the 7th, after all my July sales had cleared.

You could be right about there being a timing issue, but if so, it is a recent phenomenon.

I am content to be paid once a month by SS and 123RF because they are reliable.  With the sites that pay less reliably I would be pretty uncomfortable only requesting a payout once a month and having to wonder when it would come.

Not to mention this is my day job, so I need to draw a paypal payment every two weeks to cover my bills.

I submitted my payment requests for 6 sites on the same day (even same hour), and this was the result :

- Fotolia 3 days
- Dreamstime 4 days
- Shutterstock 8 days
- Istockphoto 9 days
- 123rf 13 days
- StockXpert :  still waiting (it's 17 days now)

Hi there - same problem here with Fotolia.

Istock have a handy link showing payment cut off dates and times every month - submit it by 9am on the Monday (MST) and it will arrive 7 day later.  Obviously if you sumbit for payment on a tuesday, then it will be 13 days until you get paid!

DT seem very good, and SS / 123 and Veer have a good system

No problems myself with SX, and Dawn from Big kindly pays after 3 days.

It's only Fotolia takes the proverbial.

Fotolia seems to be a consistent, if not speedy, payer for me...

Just checked my recent payouts...

Requested July 7, paid July 13
Requested July 18, paid July 22
Requested Aug 1, paid Aug 8
Requested Aug 17...

So lately it's taking between 4 and 7 days, but the longer periods could have weekends falling in them, so I'm not alarmed.

I normally request right after they pay out, but this time I am wondering if I should wait.  Don't want to be on the wrong side of their payout schedule again.

If they would print a schedule (like istock) it would help a lot in deciding when to request...

I'm really not found of IS's payment set up. I requested money on the 13th (Thurs.). According to the calendar paypal payments are usually made on Mon. so I expected payment on the 17th. That was a holiday so I expected payment on the 18th. Still nothing. I looked all over the site to see if I was reading the calendar wrong and eventually wrote a note to support.

I got a response from support that it's was "processed" on the 17 (on a holiday?) and that I would be payed on the 24th. No where on the calendar does it spell out that you have to wait over 10 days from the time you request the money before you get it.

Lets look at this from thier perspective as a business, hundreds or thousands of payments could be requested in the database on any Thursday by the photographers, so we have a transaction with a status of 'requested', these would not even be looked at on the first day, and then overnight a function sets the status 'to be processed', Friday these requests are checked and the status is changed to 'processed', then they are sent to be authorised by the finance team and the status becomes 'authorised', after they are authorised the system will change the status to 'paid' and create a BACS file for bank transfers which will be uploaded to the bank, the bank queue the file and process the payments, other payment providers like PayPal are then processed, then last the checks will be printed and posted out.

This process in a normal business system could take several days due to the manual steps to avoid any mistakes and fraud and would give you a payment terms code to reflect this, this is usually Invoice after 30 days and payment within 30 days, a good deal would be a payment within 14 days, they are dealing with thousands of suppliers so expecting a payment in 4 days that includes a weekend is not realistic, so ten days is a good turnaround for any company with so many suppliers.

Yes, there was a lot of discussion about this on istock's forums when the schedule was first implemented.  At that time they made it clear that paypal would be paid a week after the Monday following the request.  If you missed the discussion I can see how it would be confusing.

That said, only the first request really is a long wait.  After that they come every Monday (except holidays) like clockwork, assuming you have enough to cash out.  I make my request every Friday and get a payout from the previous request every Monday.  They are really very consistent.

I would much rather wait a bit to get paid but get paid ON TIME than to have it be a total crapshoot like some of the other sites.

Seriously...this is getting ridiculous.

Last payout, I waited two weeks to receive it.  Submitted another request the same day, and now I'm on day 10 of that wait and I've already accumulated enough earnings to cash out several times in the past 10 days.  On top of that, I'm leaving town for 10 days this Saturday and will be without internet service the entire time, so if I don't receive the current payment pending tomorrow, I'll have to wait to request that payout and probably end up waiting another two weeks to receive it!  Ugh.

At least the check will be big.

Interesting.  Seems a lot of folks got paid or the 24th and 25th.  I have a request pending from the 21st.    Maybe there is a lag time?

If Gostwyck is right about Tuesday being payday (and I hope he is!), then perhaps those of us who are waiting may get paid on the 1st?

I'm really not found of IS's payment set up. I requested money on the 13th (Thurs.). According to the calendar paypal payments are usually made on Mon. so I expected payment on the 17th. That was a holiday so I expected payment on the 18th. Still nothing. I looked all over the site to see if I was reading the calendar wrong and eventually wrote a note to support.

I got a response from support that it's was "processed" on the 17 (on a holiday?) and that I would be payed on the 24th. No where on the calendar does it spell out that you have to wait over 10 days from the time you request the money before you get it.

The payout schedule is very simple and works very well. It's spelt out very clearly so anyone but the dimmest person can understand how IS payments work.
There is a cut-off date for the payment request which you missed, hence your delayed payment. It's really not that hard to understand.

Can you provide the specific link where this information is spelled out? Specifically I want to see where it says that payments are done a week or more after the request is made.

If you click on FAQ at the bottom of the page and then select payment requests and then select Paypal/moneybookers you get this - "Open a PayPal or Moneybookers account and receive your payment within 5 business days. It's fast, and because iStockphoto pays the transfer fee, there are no added charges. Visit www.PayPal.com or www.moneybookers.com to sign up for your free account. "

If you select Artist Payment from the FAQ menu you get this - "Paypal, Moneybookers and Payoneer payments are processed on business days only. They are paid every week depending on when your payout request was made. Please see the schedule of cut off times and payment days here. "

"here" in the quote is a link to a calendar http://www.istockphoto.com/docs/PayoutSchedule_2009.pdf which shows the paypal cut off as 9am MST on Mondays with payment being made on that Mondays. If you scroll down to Aug it appears that I can submit a payment request on thurs. the 13th (before the cut off date of Aug 17th 9am) and be paid on the 17th. No where does it state that the payments are from requests made the week before.

I agree Nancy.  The lag wasn't clear at all unless you were a reader or participant in the (very loooooong) forum thread when it was announced.

The calendar could easily be updated to reflect the waiting period.

Well I know how it works, everyone else I know knows how it works, it's still being spelt out to a few people in the forums who haven't got the info, the info is certainly out there, or how else would everyone else know ?

speaking about istock - no, their schedule doesn't work! My request is pending now for around 11 days - i.e. it's already 2 times iStock missed their promised Tuesday payout.

speaking about fotolia I was waiting for their last payment for about 2 weeks.

IS schedules do work, they're a great improvement on what went before. The problem is that some contributors seem completely unable to understand how the payout system works.
