I just had a bunch of images rejected, or more properly returned to resubmission state. The reason: they want my signature on the model release. This is a requirement I don't get; the MR is a release of rights by the model to me, so what am I doing signing it? In any event, this release has been fine for the last five years, and didn't cause rejection of all the other images submitted at the same time. So what is it? A rogue reviewer, maybe someone who used to make submitters' lives miserable at iStock? Or is this a real change in policy, and a harbinger of grief to come?

Anybody else run into this one?

You have to prove by signature that you're the one who needs model's agreement upon you using the photos taken by you Cheesy

I am guessing that releases needed to be signed all along, but the paperwork was just done poorly in the beginning by Fotolia.

Yes, you as photographer, have to sign model release as well.

I got it too.

8 images of one my kids (It's an old release that I uploaded when I started and doesnt have my signature). Doesnt look though that they want shoot specific like IS though, just a bit tighter. (and I am pleased to see that they didnt do the full rejected please reupload, the images are back to waiting for me to click through and assign release etc)

I would like to know if this is a new policy. All my model releases are on my business letterhead and that has always been fine, including at Istock. According to Istock Support if the release is on your company letterhead a photographer sig. is unnecessary.

I have new (getty generic) releases signed by me for everything since Sept. of 09, so I could upload them if needed. Just need to get some sort of official word.

I think they are just looking for the signature, but it would have been nice if they had a mail out.
