I see from ads on Facebook that DPC is offering the first month free now. I'm assuming that's because they're getting desperate. ;)

I'd agree with that.  They are trying to get buyers hooked because, in my opinion, not enough buyers are not responding to cheap seat pricing for front row behind the catcher images. The cheap pricing has a cost.  The revenue generated by one buyer is typically eroded when you fight by cost, so you need more buyers than a healthy pricing model might require. They may need twice as many buyers just to make the revenue forecast they want. I hope they choke on their own greed and die a quick death.

I have one question for the people who opted-in to DPC: are your files locked into DPC for some period of time or you can instantly deactivate them and activate if you want?

What a surprise.  None of the people you ripped into for opting in to DPC are rushing to answer your questions? Who could have predicted that?  :o

I'd like to keep this thread about how to opt out.  ;)

Go to your Contributor page.
Under My Account, select My Profile (https://us.fotolia.com/Member/Modify).
Select Contributor Parameters (https://us.fotolia.com/Member/Modify/Contributor).
Find Sell my files on DPC and click Modify.

And, from another contributor: "Then check that where you ticked actually says, "do not share on DPC". It's one of those sneaky buttons that if you press it again it will revert to share." after clicking Modify you need to "Save parameters" at the bottom of the page. Otherwise the changes will not stick.
