Topic: Poor week...

A poor week for me at Fotolia.  Sales down about 40%.

The week started off with FT's servers down, which didn't bode well.

Then, I had two or three days where the sales and credit counters didn't match (so presumably ongoing IT problems).

Today I can hardly access the site at all - tried to keyword several images and just gave up.

Fotolia seem to get more than their fair share of problems.  MORE than their fair share.....

My sales are down 5+%, which is within the normal ebb and flow of things.

FT give me the largest amount of rejects and the least amount of sales.  They are going down!

Is it time to remove them from the Big 6?

They like isolated images. In last batch I have 100% accepted images.

You can see images on link:

FT is definitely slower than usual for me, having fallen to my 5th best earner this month, after having beatten BigStock in November for very little (and BigStock is ahead this month).  No ELs in months.

Not in my optinion. I've had a 100% acceptance rate for the past three months with dozens of images and it was my #3 earner until an EL at DT just bumped FT to #4. I like FT.

Ft has always been among my top three sellers and I almost never had funny rejections.
yet it is true for me as well sales are a bit slower this month but still not too bad.

I started microstock at the beginning of this year, and for most of that time Fotolia has been very slow for me, almost to the point where I stopped uploading. However they are easy to upload to and is one of the sites which I have an acceptance rate well in excess of 90%.

Well last month I had my best month ever with them, and have exceeded that already this month. In fact so far this month they are my number one earner, when previously they accounted for around 5% of my income, way behind Shutterstock, Istock and Dreamstime. I can't say I understand why, and I'm sure it wont stay that way.

As I seem to say in every post I make, I don't have a big portfolio (some sort of inferiority complex? I say the same to every girl that I meet  Grin ), but I think that this most probably accounts for more ebb & flo than those with many more images.

I had a very poor week too in items, but an EL sale was a nice consolation.  The other sites have a small portion of my portfolio so I can't compare.
