We wanted to let our contributor community know that we are running a promotion in the US, UK and Australia/New Zealand to offer a subset of our Fotolia customers to try an Adobe Stock plan and convert their Fotolia credits to standard licenses.

The transfer of credits to standard licenses requires the purchase of an Adobe Stock plan. The royalty you earn for licenses will initially be $0.99 per image, with each image during the promotion representing one converted credit. Soon thereafter, we will move to pay a royalty at 33% of the image price based on the specific, undiscounted product that was purchased by the buyer. For reference, based on some of the most popular Adobe stock plans, the small image plan of 2 images per month will earn you $3.30 in royalties for each sale. Licenses from the 10 images a month plan pay out at $0.99, and sales from a large subscription plan with 350 or 750 images a month guarantee a minimum payout, which is $0.25 - $0.40 based on your Fotolia rank. We'll be monitoring royalties and payouts closely to keep a careful eye on the success of our contributors.

The Fotolia website remains a primary destination for our clients and well continue to serve them. In parallel, since many clients use Adobe products and appreciate the benefits of integration, we want to provide an opportunity with the promotional offer to experience the full set of features of Adobe Stock plans, such as our extended range of asset types (Premium, 4k Video, 3D, templates), content at all price points, integrated workflows, and many more.

Kudos to Adobe Stock and Mat for promoting more sales and keeping us contributors so well informed.

In the 1.5 years since I "came back" (after bailing out during the Dollar Photo Club debacle), FT/Adobe has become my favorite stock site, in large part because the communications we receive from Mat are superior to anything that comes out of the other big sites.

Thank you, Mat.

Isn't it actually bad for us, contributors? Like a transition from credit sales to subscriptions? About two month ago I started to see a very promising growth, unprecedented in the recent years of microstock. With a large percentage of big credit sales. Then in the last few weeks it turned back significantly. Now I mostly get subscriptions with 0.33, 0.99 an 1.65 credit commissions. Good credit sales suddenly became rarer.

(but I shouldn't sound like seeing a disaster, I still get decent returns.. It's just that October was really magical at Fotolia and November is significantly less so, with considerably lower return per download)

Any news as to when this started and when it will end?

It's been a mad day... BDE by a mile. It's like it's making up for the quiet spell at the end of last month. Epic day  8)

If this is the effect of the promotion.... long may it continue!!!!

This is incredible, my download numbers are around 3x of what they usually are.

However, as a contributor with some skin in the game, I'm thinking about the possible long term effects which might reflect negatively on contributors. Guess we have to wait and see.

Mat, if you're reading this, I'm sure we're all curious to know how long this promotion may last.  Is it just running a day or two, or is it lasting longer?  (My vote: forever)

agree with that

they need to work on exclusive/infinite collection, maybe to promote some of files during upload

like checkbox "Make this file exclusive if accepted for infinite collection" and price based on rank or even better specific file downloads (can increase price after 10+ downloads or something)

Has anyone who's earnings fell off a cliff a few years ago seen a recovery?  I'm still lucky to get 20% of what I used to get.  SS has been much more stable for me.
