Reached Emerald status a few weeks ago and wondering whether I should increases prices from the basic 1 credit to 2 credits. I'm undecided - on the one hand I'd like to try for higher income, but on the other hand I don't want to destroy sales.

Do any other Emeralds have experience they'd like to share?

I increase prices only for unique stuff that took some time to produce and that already sells well: elaborate vectors, panoramas, singular travel shots and the like. Don't know if that makes sense, but at least sales of those haven't got down much, so I think I have a slightly higher revenue. Could also be possible that sales would have increased if I kept the lower prices, who knows...

I think it can kill credit buyers...why spend 36 or 24 credits per image when for this price they can take a 10 images 30 dollars subs monthly??

If this images only were avaible by credits i will say yes...

I have always increased prices to the maximum allowed at each stage. Always saw an increase in income as a result.

Out of my last 120 sales on Fotolia only one was credit sale... so i guess it doesn't matter much at the moment. 1-2 years ago i used to get a lot of nice credit sales.. just as many for higher priced files, so that time it was worth it to increase the price for good seller and more unique images. Nowadays I'm not sure

I reached Emerald some time back and thats when overall takings went right down, same as many others. Punished for selling a lot!! I would definetely NOT increase pricing!! would probably make it even worse!
Lisafx, a very prominent supplier gave up once she reached emerald so you can imagine what would happen if you on top of that raised prices??

Just as i was complaining i've got some credit sales

For increased price photos.

Actually for me things went up when I reached emerald and increasing the price of my good selleres seemed to make them sell even better. The problem is that in the last year or so Fotolia credit sales dried up. But I think it has to to with redirecting the traffic to Adobe..

Please forgive this utterly stupid question but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to see my Fotolia rank. I've been a contributor there for years but can't seem to figure this out.

Can anyone point me to how I can view it? Thanks so much in advance!

Ever since the merger with Adobe we are stuck with 0.33 and 0.99c, pushing subs etc, etc, instead of the good credit-sales we used to get. Give me back Oleg and the old Fotolia anytime!

In my personal account I max out my prices. You may see a decline in credits based sales but the cut would need to be 50% or greater for the change not to be in your favor.

It's important to note that the price can only be increased on files that have been selling in the past 6 months. Any "unsold" files remain at the minimum so that will increase their chance of sales.

I don't know how to feel about it.. I'm also really missing the good old credit sales. Yet my overall earnings are increasing slightly since the Adobe takeover, and sold files seem to be a healthy mixture of new images, old good sellers, and an occasional sale of of some wierd old image that I had already forgotten about

Ever since I hit Emerald a few years back my income has decreased. A couple of the smaller sites compete for equal monthly takings..
At one time Fotolia used to supply me with a four figure monthly income in UK Pounds. Now.....£200 if i'm lucky.
Sucks, it really does.

You really think you're 'destroying sales' by raising the price from 1 to 2 credits? What has this world come to? Microstock agencies have us brainwashed into thinking that everything should be worth pennies, or customers won't buy it?

Matt, this may have been answered already, but will there come a time when we can manage our images from a single site? I upload to Adobe, but once every few months, I have to go back to Fotolia and try and remember how to find or do anything. It's very confusing and time consuming.
