Topic: So how much exactly is worth 1 credit?

I'm a bit confused. I'm trying to figure out how much do I got from fotolia and found in one place that 1 credit is worth £0.75 (http://en.fotolia.com/Info/Contributors#item_8) and in faq that "from" £0.63 (http://en.fotolia.com/Info/Credits).

So how much is 1 credit worth for a photographer?

For contributors' royalty payments, 1 credit at Fotolia equals $1.  For buyers the price varies depending on the currency and package size.

Yes, but only for contributors on US Fotolia...

For EU FT contributors 1credit=1€


Yeah, that post covers the euro paid photographers as well.

The US$ White ranked photographers are getting paid 16-33% commissions depending on the package size purchased by the byer
The Euro white ranked photographers are getting paid 22-46% commissions.

It is definitely better to be paid in Euro.

They apparently won't let you.  It costs them about 34% more to have euro submitters, so there isn't much motivation for them to switch you to being a Euro paid photographer.  I am in Europe as well but get paid in USD, so when I get paid $1,000 my neighbor who is getting paid in euro's would get $1338

Yeah, I made the mistake of signing up with a dollar account even though I'm in Europe before I knew about this.
It really is disgusting that you can't switch to the territory that you are actually in.

Just been browsing the various country sites of FT and for buyers it seems like the FT credits have been re-adjusted to $1 values in the various currencies. A credit for a UK buyer is 63 pence and for a Eurozone buyer it is €0.75.

In light of this discovery, I don't see how FT can be paying a percentage (depending on rank/exclusivity etc) of €1.00 credit to the contributor....likewise how can they pay UK contributors the old 75 pence per credit earned if they are selling credits at 63 pence...........I have a sneaky suspicion that we will be informed of these pricing changes after the fact, at sometime in the future.  Shocked
