It is intriguing when stock agencies deploy time and money to develop features that will only be used by exclusives on their site. Doesn't everyone who is not exclusive get their files ready for upload in some system or other and then upload/submit to all at once? Could this be used by someone who submits to many sites?

As a matter of interest, are there are large percentage of exclusive artists on Adobe/Fotolia?

That's a fair point Steve. If you are embedding your metadata before uploading, this particular feature won't do much for you. However, it will be a tremendous help for new contributors learning the  wacky and oh-so-fun world of stock indexing and as you mentioned for those that upload to Adobe Stock exclusively.

In my personal workflow, the auto-category feature is the biggest time saver for me. Regardless of exclusivity you need to select a category. I can simply upload, attach releases and submit everything at once. Yes, of course I'm biased but not when I'm uploading and submitting. I want the flow to be as easy as the rest of you want it and the system as it stands is pretty dang seamless in my opinion. In addition, while I don't use the auto-keywords to index my files,  I do like to check out the recommendations while researching and embedding keywords offline. . I may do the same with the auto-title now that it's available to use.

Another way I can see the auto-title feature helping veteran contributors. Recently, I uploaded a batch of approximately 150 images I had done all my indexing in Bridge but as many of you know, this can be a long, tedious process. For whatever reason, I missed the title on around 6 or 7 of the photos. While yes, it's a minor nuisance in the grand scheme of things to improvise and add the title manually in the portal, it is a nuisance nonetheless that disrupts my flow. Now, when it happens again (I guarantee it will) it will be as simple as clicking the title bar and selecting my favorite of the options.

In other words, it doesn't hurt to have it available when you need it. There are plenty of other great features for you in the works. Stay tuned!

I'd rather see Adobe/Fotolia use the description from my image metadata rather than the image title.

Its a pain in the ass having to copy and paste descriptions to each and every image upload.

Agree.
But a workaround as long as they don't change it: When the title is empty, they take the description field.
You can easily delete titles with a short script for ExifTool. That makes it one doubleclick before uploading a batch of photos....

I would try that but some of the other agencies use a title and the description so I'd end up with missing titles for a number of other agencies just to satisfy Adobe/Fotolia :(

I do that just for FT.
Separating out the files before upload and uploading from different folders per agency is less work than copy pasting descriptions for each image.
BTW, I still upload via FTP to the old Fotolia website, no idea if it's the same via Adobe Stock...

Moments ago I posted some incorrect information about the impact of the title in Adobe Stock search. I have recently learned that there is some weight in Adobe Stock search based on the title. It's important to note the the title should only depict the core subject of the image using words that a customer would consider when trying to find it.

I'm curious how many contributors add a description in addition to a title in their metadata. I will start a new thread with a poll.

And that is why using the title only is a problem its usually just a few words
where as the description is a more rounded explanation of the subject matter.

Example

Title : A Grey Cat Washing

Description: A handsome British short hair grey cat washing his paws on a window sill

Bingo.

The race to the bottom continues, in one small step. :D

Btw, IMO this won't help with the retention of new contributors (I remember a statistic that only around/below 10% continue to be active uploaders). An increase in royalties would, tho. But we all know that's not gonna happen :)

exactly - since most other sites use the desc, adobe is leaving out essential info when they discard our titles --

an auto title feature doesnt help those of us who submit to multiple sites as we already have BOTH title and desc with our images;

..... With auto-categories, auto-keywords and now auto-titles you can theoretically upload content and submit it to Adobe Stock while spending virtually no time indexing.

where do we find the auto-category option?  I use the fotolia indexing area and dont see anything like that

the adobe submit shows all waiting images, so you have to select each separate image you want to categorize and is much slower than foto site;  in foto, w 10 at a time it's easier to have a block that have the same category

+1 I too would prefer the description to be brought into Fotolia instead of the title from the metadata fields as populated in lightroom. If fotolia is only going to have one field and use it in the search and allow the customer to understand the photo the description is the best.

A lot of other sites require both title and description.
