Hi, I'm on Fotolia since august. Ive 200 images in my portfolio but only...10 downloads and few views. I don't understand what is the problem. If my works are not interesting or if fotolia is in crisis.
I'm italian so I like Fotolia for speak in the forum but I don't sell anything!

Try to upload more and more files in your portofolio, you'll not sell much with only 200 files. After you'll change the rank, you'll see more downloads. Good luck.

I agree, two hundred is barely getting started.  I have been with them a week and have 400 approved and another 100 waiting to be approved.  it is a numbers game.

Images on fotolia are all or nothing.  I have images that sell several times a day every day and other images that never get a view.  I think it depends a lot on what the reviewer thinks of your image (my guess). You just have to keep uploading and hope one of your images gets into the 'superseller' club.

You are welcome. And try to improve your skills every day. The better you are, more sales you will have. You don't need only many images, but also good ones. You need to work hard, and the money will come.

Good luck

Yes, good point - that is especially true for a site like Fotolia.  Only the best images will get into the images which have constant sales.  The other will sit and sit with nothing.

is it an option in fotolia to choose for 3rd party sales? i notice some of the sales in fotolia are through reseller.

basically if you didn't get sales, try submitting different kind of photos..

Thanks to everyone. First of all I'll try to improve my portfolio, than I'll try different kind of subjects...but it's strange, I'm building my portfolio on dreamstime too. I've only 60 images but I sell better than on Fotolia.

I think the search engine criteria on DT and FT are different.  Dreamstime seems to weight the contributor's acceptance rate pretty highly, whereas Fotolia seems to give more weight to image success.

I know that makes it difficult - if you don't have any successful images, how are you supposed to get any if they aren't seen?  But once you get a couple of good sellers you will see your sales take off there.  They are consistently my number two site every month.

I don't have few downloads at FT. The problem is the very low commission and the subs. Add to that the US-sales tax, and RPD shows to be very disappointing.
