Topic: Rodeo doing summer cleaning?

(Read 5684 times)

I just noticed that Rodeo is deleting lots of images (or has been deleting them, cause I don't look every day).
My number of images there went down with about 13% (about 400) in one go.
Looks like spring cleaning in summertime.

Any other Rodeo-submitters noticed the same ?

Yes, I had a few deleted.  I think there was something in one of their newsletters about it.

Yes, I had a few disappear from Rodeo too. What concerns me more is how sales have apparently slowed to a complete stop over the summer.

No that's not so surprising as it seems :  last year sales went down to zero in the summertime, and they explained that in Finland July/August everybody goes on holidays and business life almost stops completely.

But what about reviews time?
I sent few DVD with my new images in the last 4 months but my portfolio size didn't change...and no answer from Rodeo after I ask them about it...

I did get an email that there were delays with reviews but it's been several months now.  I'm getting frustrated with rodeo, not having an account to log in to has a lot of disadvantages.  We should at least get an email acknowledging our uploads and one for accepted and rejected images.  I just look there once a month at the moment and can't see any of my new images.  There's no incentive to upload more.

I also asked (mail) questions, and I got an answer in autumn.  They were working on important website changes which would probably last till November.  I have been monitoring the site since then, and until today nothing has changed.  Sales are going down, and no new images have been added since June (I sent a dvd in June, and the images are not on-line yet).
I have no idea how big their backlog must be!

8 months to put the images on line is a long time...I'm still waiting for my portfolio's update, I sent another email but no answer yet.

Did you not receive the newsletter end of January?

It said that the site development was almost finished, and the uploading of the photo backlog was proceeding.  The delay was caused by the fact that Juha Tuomi broke his back in October, making him a bed patient for two months.

A few weeks ago, my dvd of July was put on-line, and all commissions up till December were paid out.

Now let's hope Sales go up again.  I only wonder what all the site developing was needed for, as I don't see any difference with the old site ...

Oh...it's seems I've missed it!
Is it a good news to me...maybe not good to Juha's back...I had the same problem two years ago and I can understand how his feeling.
So now we have only to wait for a new improvement of sales!
Too bad  the site isn't in English too.

I wish every agency would do that, there's som much garbage to take out. It took a friend of mine 2 days to find a few photos for her website, she said almost everything that wasn't in a higher priced collection (Infiniti, Vetta etc) was rubbish, boring similar looking generic shots.

I get a back dated payment every now and then.  I would like to upload more but the last batch I uploaded last year looks like it wasn't reviewed and I'm waiting to see if the site is going to get back to normal.
