I am curious to know if anyone else in Western US has been having issues photographing non-fire photos outdoors with all the smoke and haze from the wildfires.

Some photos are ok--  slight change in white balance etc corrects it.  Others I need to just reject because the smoke and haze make things look odd-- but not odd enough to be part of the image.  So weird to have good exposures etc but the subject looks off.

Yes.  I was filming aerial shots of boating and inner tubing on Lake Roosevelt and they look pretty smoky.  Weird because the boat and tubes look vibrant with color but the backgrounds look like a cloudy day.

And on Canada's west coast that "white sky" has been an ongoing problem all summer from numerous wildfires in the interior.  A real shame for those having to deal with the crisis and very much a lost summer for everyone else because of the poor air quality.

I shot 3 animals in same place-- golden brown one ok. Black one ok albeit with golden tones in highlights on fur which actually looks nice. But the plain brown one looks off in part due to haze between us and in party due to color of smoke haze -- off enough to reject.

Blue sky ok even though not normal be here but clouds look dirty pinkish.  Mostly white skies.

Landscapes are out due to haze-- but not enough of it here (thankfully-- I have asthma) to make the smoke part of the subject.

I cannot imagine what people closer to the fires are going through.
