This is interesting in a 'tineye' sort of way but when you think about it, could this affect models we use in our shoots? It appears that criminals might use face recognition software for fraudulent purposes - perhaps there needs to be an additional disclaimer added to a model release form to protect the originator of the file . i.e. the photographer...

I know there is a current thread about a lass who's picture has been hi-jacked on a Facebook page but this could be quite a bit more serious.

Why do think Big Brother wants to (or already has) banned the wearing of them!

Just one more reason not to publish too many private data on the web. I never understood why some people believe it is a good idea to share all of their intimate details on facebook....

LONDON (AP) - Facial recognition technology being considered for London's 2012 Games is getting a workout in the wake of Britain's riots, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press on Thursday, with officers feeding photographs of suspects through Scotland Yard's newly updated face-matching program.

If you can't do the time, don't do the crime. Anonymous criminals are now being tracked and caught. It does mention that they are easier to find when the people have a previous criminal record and are in the database.  :) I'm in for this bargain when it stops or catches criminals who are ruining our rights for a peaceful and safe life.
