Does anyone use a "quick release strap" on their DSLR?  Have you ever had an issue with it coming "unclipped" by accident?

I use the strap on my camera quite frequently when I'm riding my bike and out shooting stuff hand-held.  But when I put the camera on a tripod it gets in the way quite frequently.  And now that I'm using my indiSlider all the time it's constantly in the way.

Taking it on and off is a major PITA, so I'm thinking of getting a Quick Release Strap, but a friend asked me if they ever come apart by accident, which set off alarm bells because I carry my camera around my neck when I go bike riding.

If you have one and haven't had any issues with it coming apart accidentally, which brand/item are you using?

Thanks!

I've been using this OP/TECH strap for years without a problem. I very rarely use the shoulder/neck attachment - I prefer it with the short camera loop connectors attached to each other to make a strap short enough to not easily get tangled but still allow for easy handling.

I'm using this one http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/53509-REG/Tamrac_N1701_N_17_Anti_Slip_Quick_Release.html and I haven't had any problems with it coming loose, though I have nightmares about it anyway. It's pretty solid.

When I shoot on a tripod, though, the movement of the straps can cause camera shake, so I usually use a delayed time shutter release to give the straps a chance to be still. Haven't had any rejection issues, so I guess it's ok to have them hanging.

Thanks, so much.  I ordered the Tamrac strap.
