Where to host portraits (or wedding shots) to be purchased as prints?

As the subject asks, does anyone have good suggestions of where to host files to be printed by the buyer.

I am looking to upload a set of wedding photos for a wedding couple. It would be nice if there was a private log-in, so only the people they send the log-in details to could purchase images.

In the past I have just set up my own website and printed the photos myself, but this time the wedding was in Canada and I am in Norway. I am looking for something simple and pretty cheap as this will probably just be a one time thing and not an entire branding / business venture.

Smugmug is just what you need. They offer private galleries which are password protected (you can even make them invisible to anyone else), they offer high quality prints, you can batch watermark your photos....etc.

Yeah smugmug looks good. Pretty similar to Zenfolio, but $150 is a little steep for just one event that I may or may not make any money from. Zenfolio is $100/year but even that is pushing it. I am not making any profit on the wedding (it was for family) so I don't really want to have a lot of expenses.

Pictage is another great website that caters to this exact need. Check them out at http://www.pictage.com. Like Smugmug, they have a history in weddings and portraits and offer services to allow photographers to upload, present and sell to customers. They even color correct and design albums for you (if needed.)

Tyler, I get my pro work done at Don's Photo. A friend took a class and they told her to get all her consumer work done at Don's, even the consumer products are supposed to be of the highest quality. Yes, the prints are more than Walmart but there will be no issues at all with colour or cropping.

This is not a link where they can download the file, but it is a link to a consumer site where you can upload photos, create an album and they can place an order right from there. Photos can be shipped FROM CANADA or picked up in Saskatoon, Regina, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Brandon I think there's a location somewhere in BC too. They would just pick their lab at the end of it.

All of the other sites mentioned ship from the U.S. which may cause the couple additional expenses (i.e. should be no duties but if the messenger brokers it through customs there will be an additional $40 or so to pick up). They will be running a little slow between now and Christmas but a 16x20 is running about 10 days. The small prints likely 3 days. If they ask you for anything special (like a jaquard woven blanket for ex) I have an account with Pure Country Weavers in South Carolina. You have to have a studio to get an account.

The free album is only live for 30 days so they would have to order within 30 days. You cannot mark-up this consumer site. The hosting service they use in the pro-lab (where you set your own prices) is quite cost prohibitive to open up a gallery, I don't even use it.

Download the software on the second column. It is slower but the first one does not have albums.

I know people who use Fotki, but I don't know if it has password protection. There is also Photobox.co.uk, but I also don't know if they offer password protection.
