I also sent this out in an email, but for those who didn't get it...

Another year has come to an end and it is again time for the annual Microstock Survey.  This will be the fourth year of running the survey. Last year's survey had well over 600 responses (thanks everyone!!).  The survey follows a very similar format to previous years with a little more breakdown for media type (photo, illustration, video, audio).  If you have your numbers ready, the entire survey shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to answer.  I have tried to keep the survey as short as possible while still gathering enough information for it to be interesting to everyone.
Survey Link
http://microstocksurvey.com/index.php?sid=55748

Please share the link with others.  The more answers we get, the better and more interesting the data will be.

To see what was done with previous surveys, do a search for survey on the MicrostockGroup blog
http://blog.microstockgroup.com/?s=survey

As a thanks for everyone who filled out the survey, I'll be making a radom draw (at the end of January) and giving away a ColorChecker Passport (something I've found useful while shooting the past couple years).  Make sure you sign up to the mailing list at the end of the survey to enter the draw. If the winner isn't a photographer they can substitute the prize for something else of equal value.

For those who didn't see this thread before, there were some bugs on the survey site that are now fixed.  I have moved the posts referring to that bug into it's own thread called 'survey bugs'.  Things should be fixed now however.

Looking forward to this years' results.  Should be interesting reading.  I did leave a suggestion for additional questions.  Although the answer is probably pretty obvious this year, would be good to track which site gained the most and which lost the most over the course of the year.

My overall stats show Istock as my top earner, but the last several months that is not the case.

BTW, if we are already on the mailing list, do we still get entered in the drawing?

Thanks again Tyler, for compiling the most interesting set of stats in the industry.  Smiley

Yeah, as long as you ticked the box (at the end of the survey) 'I took part in the 2011 Survey' you'll be entered in the draw

I tried.  I ticked the box and entered my info, but it kicked it back saying you already had that address on file.  Hope it works out.  Either way, the info is even more useful than the prize Cheesy

Same for me.  I took the survey from the e-mail received, ticked the box at the end and got the same message as above.

If you are already in the mailing list, when you get 'kicked back saying you are already on the list' make sure you click 'update your information'.  You will then be send an email so you can check the 2011 survey box.  If you don't think you did that, you can do it by visiting this page again

That's what happened to me, so I just let it go.  Not sure if it took.

BH Photo and some other sites should be sponsors here. I've spent quite a bit the past couple years. How about breaking out your five fingers of fury and doing some cold calling Leaf!?  Wink

Yeah, perhaps I should look more into that in the future or for another time.  I did get B&H to sponsor a prize once for MSG, and perhaps they are willing to do it again.  There must be other companies interested as well....
