Hi everyone,

I saw this on Bored Panda:
http://www.boredpanda.com/adobe-stock-apparel-clothing-line/

They are not actually for sale but it is making fun of stock.

Sometimes I feel embarrassed to say I do stock photography - like it is becoming a joke. I take it very seriously ... Maybe I'm too sensitive ...

Even bad promotion can be a good promotion. I bet that Adobe is getting even better visibility because of this mockery.

It gave me a laugh.

They chose images depicting everything that is wrong with the industry.

It was great - I'd buy the shirts. Not the images.

Well, those photos are kind of ridiculous. Those fake white smiles, the forced poses, the crazy faces...trends change, and these photos feel dated and fake.

The guy that wrote that article is a bit of an idiot. Those are not the "worst" stock photos. I've seen some of the worst and the photos in the article don't come close. They may be very cliche photos but cliche works in stock. The trend of "authentic" images, that Stocksy likes to accept, is a great way for pretentious people to look down their noses at the cliche pics but designers and ad agencies still like to buy bright images with happy smiling people doing things like pointing at blank signs. Don't be embarrassed about creating images that sell, that's what it's all about.

Maybe you take all of this too serious. The shirts are funny and the jokes are appropriate for the industry that makes thousands of these cliche standard shots, and people who think they can make money, shooting many more of them.

How about this, dio you find it offensive or a good poke at stock?  http://www.boredpanda.com/soldering-iron-stock-image-fails/

Maybe this says the same things that the Adobe Ts make fun of, but will anybody be offended by the truth?

https://boagworld.com/design/stock-photography/

Note the date. 2010 and it's never going to stop? Buyers want something different not the stock cliche's, I don't know why photographers keep pumping out this junk and expect it to sell.

models trip on a pair of shoes costing thousands of dollars that break on the runway!!!

we can do the same thing too, ...
self-portrait stock photographer not smiling...
"duh, what's there to smile about...1.05 for a SOD...
38 cts for a download???
