I would like to know how much images we, microstockgroup netizen collectively have online. One member cited that we successfully removed 25% of DPC. How much power do we really have?

Of course, there are many contributors who are not in this forum nor speak english. I don't dare to hope much.

We are restricted in the fact that most photographers act solo and don't visit this forum. I believe the ones on this forum act collectively to a point. If photographers were to unite we would of course have all the power over the agencies by setting minimal thresholds that we would tolerate. I suppose that's called a union. It would be great if us collective photographers could yield the power to keep maverick agencies in line. Of course it is totally possible.

Somebody made one of these threads a month ago...

I thought I would average the number from the poll then times by no. of forum member.
Sample space of 106 from 34336 members is low. From previous poll I averaged 4047 image per person. Which mean we have ~139,000,000 images. That's not possible. SS only have 38ish millions.

Is there a way to really gauge how much microstockgroup really represent?

I think the annual survey gets around 500 responses. That's probably more than most polls get, so that might be as close as you'll get. Tyler probably has those numbers if they aren't listed in the survey.

You can really only speculate about the rest of the contributors from MSG. I'm not sure how active some of them are. Not that you have to post a lot to be active here. I assume there are a fair amount of non-contributor accounts as well here.

Can you point me to the annual survey? If average is in fact 4000 then we collectively have at least 2million images.

Faulty math and assumptions Epsilonth. Some people have none, some members will never answer a poll, because they joined and left. Same goes for agencies. Years ago I checked and 50% of the people who joined an agency that could be tracked, NEVER CASHED OUT for one cent.

You can't take total members of anything, without accounting for people who join and do nothing or for here, people who join but don't participate in microstock? You assumed that all members are active and submit or have been accepted someplace.

Here's something more positive. 10% of the people who answered the last poll have 10,000 images. WOW!

And one income pole a few years back, showed that people here, make up the top 5% of all microstock contributors.

So now you look at the polls on the right and should recognize, this is what the top 5% make, and 10% of these people have over 10,000 files on these agencies.

Someone with 1000 or 2000 should not expect to make the numbers on the right. Maybe 1/10th of those.

There were 812 people who answered the survey last year.  The average port size was 2519 which means a total of 2,045,428 images.

You can't do a little survey like this thread and multiply it by the number of members registered.  A large number of the accounts registered are just spam accounts that weren't able to post anything and thus haven't been detected as a spam account.  I think the survey will give you much better data.  Here is the 2013 results
