I'm mostly a studio photographer. I don't do much outdoor photos. I will be traveling a lot this year. About 3 months in total this year. Which means I can shoot thousands of images for stock. In the past I would have just sat down and retouch each image one at a time, but given how low the return on investment is these days for stock photos, I don't think it is worth my while. Especially compared to studio work where the lighting is always controlled. What software can I use to batch process all my images. The end result don't need to look amazing, just better than whatever came out of my camera. I have a D800. In the past I've often used Topaz Adjust or Nik Effects.

In Photoshop you could set up an Action to open every image in a folder, use the Auto Tone, Auto Color, Auto Levels-type effects or the Saturation Tool, Save, and close the files out again. However, I don't think there's a way you could set up an action to use the manual Levels tool in any reasonable way.

If fully automatic is not good enough, I set up an Action that takes the opened file, opens the tool (curves) an lets me adjust, then after clicking OK opens the next tool (saturation) which I can adjust, then saves the file (generally to a new folder to not damage the source). I do this when I shoot something like a street festival and come back with 1500 images for the day to prep for the directors. Using my photo manager I delete the junk and later come back with the Photoshop Action to tune up the keepers. Learn about Photoshop Actions to make this work. Feed the folder of images to PS as a batch and you sit there making adjustments while the computer opens and closes files.
