Hi there,

I am building a small webste for a friend who is a consultant. He wants some images, basically they will be all XS.

I was wondering which site is the cheapest for a buyer yet giving the best commission for the photographer. Not IS, of course, and possibly not DT unless it's a level 0 image.

A good middle ground for both photographers and buyers as per your request would be GL Stock Images I would think. Give that a try. Prices in the lowest tier are cheap, and photogs retain 52% royalty.

Hmm, the only problem is that I don't have an account there. I was expecting to use of the main agencies because I have credits to use and then charge him in local currency.

Any other suggestion?

Pixmac and Stockfresh are good choices IMO.

Another would be individual photographer's sites.  Here's a thread with a link exchange to the sites of most of the contributors here that have them:  http://www.microstockgroup.com/selling-direct/your-stock-site-link-exchange/.  For example, at my site lisafxphotostock.com xs are $2.  (sorry for pimping, but it meets your pricing criteria if any of the images are what you need)

Good luck with your project :)

I think you can set up an account there and buy images one at a time without a package.  I think this is one thing you should consider, not having to buy a package or bundle like DT makes you do.  I could be wrong but I believe GL allows you to buy single images with a CC.

Edit: I just went in to GL and purchased a small image without having to pay for anything but a single image.  It was a buck for a small.

WARNING: Do not go into your GL account while you are logged in and play around with purchasing anything.  If you have a balance it will sell you the image and deduct from that balance immediately....like it just did with me:) >:(
Here's the image I just purchased:

Maybe you need to list the agencies where you have credits to use, if that's your subset to choose from?

+1 for lisa
Madeleine I saw that few years ago you was interested in starting a co-op business, so why not? I haven't yet published my link so I'm not promoting myself but the lisa idea. In sell direct section there are the websites of elena, lisa, leaf, cidepix, denispepin the first that come to my mind, a lot of good stuff to choice.
Some of us are buyers not only contributor why when we need personal purchases we don't support the other members?
