Okay, so here I sit on a Thursday night, taking a little break from sorting through piles and piles of customer orders that just came out of the lab and I took a break to watch this.

OH.  MY.  LORD.  I hope she isn't from Winnipeg, because I will be out of business when everyone finds out what at....

what was that?

You know, the word, what's the word?

Starts with a P

Oh, yeah, that she is such a professional she is.  Oh, I would be put to shame.

This is the definition of MWC folks!!!  It is a joke, right - tell me that video is a joke.

I'm afraid she is serious, she has more clips online, a photographer friend of mine forwarded that to me, I couldn't get off the floor for 10 minutes.

Yeah it's satire. If you do a quick web search though, there seems to be an awful lot of people who believe she is being serious.

Of course its a spoof.  It has every (American) cliché of the sweet house wife . . . .  of course she talked to her husband before temping such a risque thing as photography . . . . .  and children, and church, and not being able to use those sexual “P” words. Its a Spoof . . . . . . . . .  I hope.

I find the comments by people that take this seriously funnier than the clips.  Reminds me of the fist episode of the British version of the office, my boss thought it was a real documentary.  I laughed so much it hurt Smiley

It's a pee-take of MWACs.  Very funny, I think (especially videos four and five).

She writes the following on her YT channel.  Anyone in any doubt as to where she's coming from should click the link and read it.

"Thanks to Amanda for understanding the heart of my message! You go, girl! Read her blog here: http://www.typeablog.com/learning-to-laugh-wisconsin-phot..."

At first it seems like it could be real, but when she gets into... um... oh, shoot... what was it? Oh yeah... F... F-stop!

yes, it's a spoof.. but very funny indeed.  I have heard that a few boards and places find the videos insulting... but perhaps it's only because it hits a little too close to home for some Wink

It hurts watching this - no fun at all. She's playing an airhead, feeding the stereotype of a stupid housewife. I'd be fuming if I was a woman.

She wants to be an actress and fails miserably. If she practiced that bit for a few months, maybe she could pull it off but it's simply over-acted or let me put it another way NOT-acted at all.

Can't believe people take this for real.

^^^Isn't it over-acted to make it obvious to most people that its a spoof?  It also makes it funnier when people think its real.  There's a few youtube spoofs that are perfectly acted and its hard to tell if they are real but I don't find them as funny.

I personally think that it would be more in the interest of the author of the video to make it look more real.

There is a niche for comedy but that doesn't necessarily guarantees as much traffic as "OMG, I can't believe she is serious" without being funny. I think it would get a lot more viral looking more authentic rather than pulling off a half a$$ comedy show. Ugh.

Great advice. I became a pro the moment I switched to P-Professional mode. I'm kinda nervous but my next move is to use A-Awesome mode. Wish me luck.

Come on, offended, mean, and demeaning to women? She's funny as all heck and telling the truth. Doesn't anyone have a sense of humor anymore.

Heck I shoot sports on "little running man" why do I need all that experience and understanding light and physics, it's all automatic. Just punch the button and, there it is, another great picture. Especially with the High Speed Burst mode, I can take hundreds of amazing pictures in a couple of minutes. Maybe she'll do sports soon, she must be a Soccer Mom!

Doesn't anyone read any other forums, where once a week someone new shows up, asking what's wrong, they want to be a professional and make money. And then people look and the pictures are shot with a P&S on "A", at ISO 800? "Well Son there are some problems here, but ten years of study would be a start."  Grin

ps Added her as a friend on FB. Get in before she gets too popular and has, Too Many Friends.

hahaha lol, I will become a professional race car driver, my car has a "P" setting on the stickshift, YES. Roll Eyes

Yes don't the pros use automatic transmissions on their cars? Why worry about all that shifting and the clutch? Wink

Hi Paulie,

Put it on M for " Man Style " this is the roughest and toughest Grin It surprises me that a realtor has to get a license to sell a house but a photographer, all they have to do is pick up a camera and shoot and once an image sells even for 10 cents they are now a professional. I was asked to play in a soccer game once and they would pay me $10 I turned down the gig just to hold onto my amatuer ranking Wink

Best,
Jonathan
