Note to Leaf: Canva is here to stay, could you consider adding a specific forum for Canva?

Sales have been good on Canva, but for February is hasnt come to life yet. January was my BME, I had good hopes for growth in February, but sales seemed to have dropped off.

Anyone else?

Maybe that's because they have been working through their backlog of pending uploads?
The remainder of my pending files (uploaded months ago) was reviewed late January.
And now my sales are rising too, I already have four times the sales from the whole of January.

I still have hundreds(?) dating back into November, although many of them look like there is some issue with the database - the image is half grey/corrupted or something.  I'm holding off on uploads until that all gets cleared out.

This month is a really good month on Canva for me, many times better than SS so far (but what happened to SS?). I uploaded early to Canva, in 2013, it sure was worth it. I also have some in the backlog, but those that are approved sell well. Canva is my new SS.

I would expect sales to drop now they are licensing layouts https://about.canva.com/designers/ and promoting free images on their blog https://designschool.canva.com/blog/free-stock-photos/ .

I can't respect Canva anymore!
Promoting free images is not what I expect from an agency where I try to sell my work!

I guess you can sell your work in Canva and to not offer your photos for free. It's up to you. Or I'm missing something?

They promote 74 sites with free images! Who will buy our content if they can get what they need for free???

Although, most of them are just flickr creative commons interfaces.

Canva itself has some free images, and I think that's a smart idea - people can try some things out without spending any money, but if they get into this for real, then they purchase images for many/most projects. Having some free images to do test designs removes a barrier to getting people started.

Clearly the free images aren't enough or those of us who sell there would not be getting paid (and we are).

I would have preferred it if the blog post made some brief mention of (a) the paid images on Canva being very reasonably priced and (b) when you might choose to pay for an image vs. use a free one. Leaving those topics out made it seem more like a promo for freebies than a useful article pointing out options.

Sales have really fallen of a cliff. Not sure what is causing this drop. I had a BME in January. How does my port go from BME to WME without reason?

I assume it is because they are getting through their backlog of submissions and we are seeing the usual dilution effect, but in a flood.  It was to be expected once it became popular with contributors, unfortunately.  I assume sales at the agency itself are doing fine.

I was thinking the same

I don't know where they are in the submissions backlog, but they haven't yet reached October 4th (my oldest pending file)!

I continue to see sales, although February is a bit Valentine's heavy and I have very few for that season on Canva, so I wouldn't expect anything like a BME. Don't forget the typical seasonal ups and downs will affect new agencies too.

At least most of you have had some images reviewed, accepted, and making sales.  I submitted 600 of my best images on October 9th and have yet to have a single image reviewed. Very frustrating...

lol, this is what i mean about ss not having to do anything but not f***up on their IT these days.
i have not done anything to check up on canva or stocksy or offset sort of neo-types new kids off the block. they all have teething issues, and it's natural for a new agency.
but u have to let them and not whine and throw sh*t in their face while they r trying to get a lift-off.
what i mean is just this, look at how much whiners here. and u want a new direction and alternative to ss???
c'mon give them a chance to iron things out before you start crying like babies.
or just go back to fotolia dpc, dt dead , and ss as they are looking pretty screwy now with their latest issue.
canva is only what??? one year old???  stand back and look at it first, huh???

No Free Lunch

The admin page link from the portolio page has been missing for a few days so I can no longer see how many downloads I've had, anyone else with this problem?

Only if you are on the contributor section. If you are on the designer section, you wont get there. I had loads of issues with that before figuring that one out with the help of Lee.
