Hi guys.

Check this out.
I found some of my images there. Probably your

Any idea.

Just found one of mine too.  I'm guessing it's a partner site.  Some of the older images remind me of ones I've seen in the Veer collection (but I could be wrong, of course!)

This partner site stuff is starting to pi$$ me off.

My images are listed with a copyright notice from "Colossus RF" - god knows what collection that is and where it came from.

I'd guess it's a Fotolia affiliate maybe someone can spot an image that's only available at a certain micro site in order to pinpoint the source.

They seem to be a reseller of images from Bigstock, Fotosearch (and CanStock I assume) and PantherMedia. Probably more microagencies as well.

For some reason I can't find my images there. But I don't mind at all

I think it's a partner site, too. But I don't know why your copyright notice would change, click. Maybe send a message to the sites you think they came from and let them know your copyright has been changed?

The partner sites were p*ssing me off too so I opted out of them all. Unless the site specifically tells me where my photos are going and separates out the monies coming in, I'm not going to participate. Maybe cutting off my nose to spite my face, but there's too much room for not-so-accurate accounting in there.

I do not see mine  - it is probably CanStock (Fotosearch). I've closed my account there exactly because of "partners" with weird or absent copyright notices.

yup I just found some of my stuff under a partner copyright there too ..  I liked the way Stockxpert handled things .. you could just glance at your balance and see where your income was coming from. I don't care for all the mystery partners .. makes me want to opt out of all of them.

i am not even sure if a microstock contributor revolution is going to change anything.
subs is here to stay, and trickle down business is getting worst.

does anybody want to replay Les Miserables and be the leader of the revolution?
Yuri? Sjlocke? any one?   Wink

man proposes (contributors) , "gods" (stock agencies ) dispose...

There is a list of stock sites at left, haven't you seen it? BigStock is among them.

Then why is my copyright note saying "Colossus RF" and not Bigstock??

I'm sending both BigStock and MDBKRY an email to figure this out.

Does anyone know where the opt-out checkbox on BigStock is now? I've looked around all my profile pages, etc. and I don't see it. I wanted to be sure I am opted out from partner programs with BigStock, since they are participating in this MediaBakery thing.

I'm not 100% sure but I think you can't opt out from partners at Bigstock.

Ever since SS took over I wouldn't be worried about faulty earnings reporting. I'm sure SS is having a serious eye on MediaBakery so they get their money.

I believe it usually works this way: Partner receives web resolution thumbnails for application of new watermark but once a sales happens the high res files will be downloaded from the BigStock servers. This way the original agency can easily track the transactions. I hope it works this way also in this case. I keep my fingers crossed.

You can opt-out at BigStock.  Go to Your Account, then Uploads.  You should see this:

Reseller Sales
By default, we may license your images to other resellers who meet our strict criteria. The images are sold under the same Image Usage Agreement terms we enforce at Bigstock. You will get paid for every sale, and your commissions will be at least as high as they are at Bigstock, and often higher. You may choose to opt out of Reseller Sales by checking the box below.

We have recently replied to several emails today regarding this thread and one user suggested we post our own reply here to help with clarity and minimize some confusion. Here is what we said, slightly edited: " I see some frustrated contributors here. Media Bakery (MB) is a legitimate company with North American market share with traditional stock image buyers.  About a year ago, we decided to offer microstock images at midstock price points (prices higher than currently offered at traditional microstock companies). The goal is to 'up sell' the images to image buyers who need a bit more from their image vendor than what microstock companies could provide. The name of the game for distributors is to try to build a loyal following of buyers who want great images with great service and this is where MB separates from microstock companies.  In order to help do that, and retain customers, we white label all of our content.  Ideally, it's a win-win for all parties involved.  To help in the clarity with this particular matter, we went ahead and changed the white label notice to just Media Bakery and dropped Colossus RF. While we won't be able to reference the photographer on any one collection, keeping it MB will provide the users in this discussion a bit more sanity and it is easy for us to do with out any damaging impact to MB.  Resellers of stock have been around for decades, it's a natural progression for them to start to occur more and more with microstock content.  I hope this explanation helps a little. "

Thanks packer guy. Found it.

And after the explanation from MediaBakery above, I went ahead and opted in here on BigStock. Maybe it will help kick my sales up there. I do wish these sites would send out an email to contributors when they sign up with resellers though, so we know where our images are going to be and what the terms are. Sure would cut down on a lot of confusion.

i don't think this is a bad thing. they are a featured contributor on alamy's front page. so, they're not only legit but it's a backdoor entry for those who want to be on alamy without passing the test or uploading.

You had me excited there for a minute. After browsing through the MediaBakery images, spot checking about 80 pages, the images are all RM. So just because we have RF images on BigStock, doesn't mean we will automatically show up on Alamy.

One of these days I need to jump into the RM fray.
