I know it's not the best place for this, but i'm sure i can get advice from people who ever promoted their works using the facebook ad system. Yesterday i ran a promotion for my business, paid 20$ for 2 days which split it into $10 per day. Today i checked my page to see the progress and wow!!!! I got 4 likes for $10 lol. Is there something that went wrong you think or it can happen?

Unfortunately it seems less like a scam and more like the state of things with Facebook pages and ads right now.  Even when you do get likes, there is a VERY low percentage of your followers (like single digits small in a lot of cases!) that will ever see each post unless you pay even more to FB ads to "promote" the post.

If I were going to spend on my own ads at the moment that would not be my first choice of platform.  If you do decide to try it again I suggest really spending some time researching the targeting features and using those until you're target audience is extremely small and specific.

I tried Facebook advertising to drive traffic to a specific FineArtAmerica print to see if I could sell it. I wrote about my experiences here:

Bottom line - I spent $30 and didn't sell a print!!

The only benefit of FB is that they know an awful lot about everyone - some of it quite wrong. If I wanted to buy a print I certainly wouldn't go on FB to look, but if I was asking my friends for a recommendation for a local photographer and an ad for one came up maybe it would be useful. I'd probably avoid them just out of principle though.

Honestly, 344 people reached is very low. I once run and ad for my photo FB page, I paid about 5$, and it ran for about five days 1$ per day, or sth. like that. And it reached if I remember correctly about 2000 people, I also got much more likes.

That is definetaly weird, either ppl are not interested in your page or sth wnet wrong. As I said, slightly more than 300 people reached for 10$ is very low number.

there is a theory that, once you showed FB your business intent  (by buying ads) you will go down in natural search, to make you buy more ads
