Post by: illustrator on July 07, 2017, 04:50
hi ,

i have been producing 3d illustration stock for more than 2 years ,

i have been worried to much that i,m unable to identity what kind of customers buy this kind of images , except blogs and website usage which i found during image search of sold items , i start of with this type of work  because i,m able to produce it from the beginning itself . its being a long journey so far . after that due to low sales i deleted so many illustrations and been again re making or re doing again the same illustration for some months with correcting mistakes .  veterans can help me some kind of advice so i can get feedback , knowing your customers is very important ! , here in my country these types of illustrations are rarely used i,m totally unaware of this situation . thanks

below are some of my works

Perhaps the market today is a bit saturated with images with this theme. I think in 3d the key is to look for originality. Offer things that photography can not offer. Photorealism is much appreciated and with 3d, you can realize ambitious production at a much lower cost.

Good luck!

The render quality seems good to me, but the market is indeed saturated with these kind of images. I've seen the faceless generic guy in many images, in different colors, sizes and poses.

thanks for the feedback ,

different colours with detailed works are very less according to my research , i don't know on which products / media customers usually rely on this type of illustrations & with my assumption the generic face type of character customers can use on any theme / situations which is usually a good benefit of that type of character .

in my country i see this type of characters in flex and boards but usually they are usually a bit dull because of its composition and colour . which is my personal opinion .

Try different things and see what sells. That's what we all do.

Looks like you've got yourself some unprintable RGB colors. I usually try to avoid those.

I think you should add more realism and less like vector drawing. That would include more detailed textures, better shaders, more interesting lighting and pay attention to color theory.
For instance, why not give that box a more realistic shader and texture and rotate it so it can clearly be seen as 3D, to make it a step further away from vector drawing.

thanks for the suggestion , yep it looks like a vector drawing , definitely i will consider it .   in coming days i would like to make mixed media illustration by adding some doodles or line art to the whole composition to cater the whole illustration more meaning full  :)
