here also. i suspect ss had big problem of traffic. the rest is slow as hell. the more you upload the less download. in my opinion the trend is clear.
apart some big seller micro will be soon only something amateur or part time photog can do.
luckily i'm earning more with macro.

one million file every week...there is no hope in this condition. i was always optimistic. produced 1000 lifestyle content in last month with model stylist bla bla....and zero download of new content. only those photo who has good old position keep selling. the new content after 2 hours are already buried by thousand of content coming from russia uklraine thailand...especially food and people photography.
yesterday i submit a batch of fitness photography made in a not common situation, after 2 hours was in page 7 of new files.
microstock is finished.

Same situation here, last weeks are very bad. It seems my nick here is no longer accurate :(.
Strange thing I am seeing a big drop in both Fotolia and SS. Never happened before.

Jonbull what macro agencies do you mean, if you don't mind ?

i collaborate with alamy, for rf and some rm, i work with documentary agency in usa and europe for my real " photo" wok, documentary and travel photography. one is redux pictures in usa. micro is just a sideline but i hope to increase with shooting lifestyle and other oriented commercial content.
at 1 million new files you can shoot all the quality and niche u want is simply impossible, apart u have some hidden deal with agency, those who have big producer i'm sure, in normal condition is simply impossible. and we have not seen nothing i suspect...they are accepting new contributors every day...world is full of amateur ready to jump in the band wagon and i suspect in less than a year we will see 300 million content mark.

if you are travel and documentary i suggest look also for instagram. grow is difficult but rewarding.

there were national holidays across europe last week and this week, so sales could have slowed down

however, it has to be said, i made pay out in the first day of june and doubled my earnings on the 2nd day, had an EL over the weekend, and then everything fell of a cliff again, lol. back to 10 dollar days

This is when Fotolia ranking comes handy. I sold 20% less last week, but my rank went up => sign that overall things were slower than usual.

agree selling less and rising also in fotolia.
agency are falling down, i suspect not only the competition of files, but most of all agency are collecting less customer less sales less traffic.
i suspect many customer are moving to find photos outside agency, they not even want pay 38 cent), they steal ask friend to photos look in flickr Facebook instagram....ask permission to use photos and most people are so happy to agree to give photo for zero dollar.

Yesterday was the start of WWDC aka Apple's World Wide Developer's Conference. People were waiting for announcements regarding Apple products and changes to iOS, so yesterday morning was expectedly slow.

It last for about a week and a lot of developers from around the world attend it. Many of them don't work during this week, they just attend sessions. Things will pick up during the week as the conference ends on Friday. If you have a lot of tech related images, you'll be slightly more affected than others.

I wouldn't imagine it would make that much difference would it?

Haha, of course not. But I guess it's natural that people must find things to blame.  :)

Good start to the month of Thursday and Friday. I had a terrible day on Saturday though, but there was a double shadow-transit of Jupiter from Io and Ganymede... so that would explain it. Things seem to be back to normal now.

It did for me since I had a lot of tech-related images. Last year was the same thing. Slow sales on the first day of WWDC in 2016. I'm not blaming anything. I know my own sales pattern better than anyone. I expect the trend to continue next year.

I think people underestimate the effects of WWDC. App developers, some designers and web developers from all over the world don't do much work for a whole 2.5 hours while Apple announce updates to iOS and announce new products. And when news websites put out news stories, they used Apple-supplied images or photos taken by press attendees at the conference.

Many of developers who attend the conference won't be doing much work for the whole week.

This week-end + Monday was Pentecost for Catholic and Orthodox Christians (for others I don't know).
For muslim countries it is the period of Ramadan, from 26 May to 24 June. I don't know if it can have some effect on the sales.

Well the WWDC dudes were going to head back to their hotels to buy a bunch of stock, but they decided to hit up the local observatory instead.
