I found this site that said this "Just copy the codes provided inside the textarea box then place them wherever you want it to appear. You can use these images in any social network and blogs as well, such as myspace, friendster, hi5, vampirefreaks, livejournal, etc.." Wit several sotck images!

Is this legal??

The site is http://www.hot-lyts.com/photography-general.php

Some of the pictures are in the Top 50 at SS. I don´t think that he took all this pictures....

Contact SS support about this. They have so many cases of rampant theft of their images that I don't know if they'll be able to stop this, but you should at least let them know. It may be that the images came from elsewhere, however, as this site (unlike so many of the others) isn't actually advertising that they're SS images.

i have read a similar quote elsewhere, but it is referring to getting your own images linked to your portfolio so you can promote your stock photos selling on their sites.

but if this is referring to other photographers and artists images,
it is definitely theft.
i think the fastest way to handle that would be to contact the domain ,isn't it?

I've done a fair bit of copyright violation complaining, and all the sites require it to be the copyright holder who makes the request to take down the content. So if we know who the artist is, we can certainly (and in the past I have done this) contact them to have them make the complaint.

When a site has many items from one source (and as I said, this isn't as clearly sourced from SS as some of the other stolen content has been), it seems like getting the site involved to lean on the violator to take the whole lot down at once is more effective.

Is it ok to use an image for a CD cover without an EL?
