Hey everyone, how was your last month?

For me, a BME (and by a wide margin) of around +70% with a portfolio increase of only 5% in the last month (and around 20% compared to the previous BME).

Shutterstock killed it. No, really. 78.1% of earnings with the RPD of 0.84$.

I'm waiting for PP results, but I don't hope that they will amount to anything. But, who knows.

Also, since I've dropped BigStock and DP, I have replaced them with CanStockPhoto and PD. They are both very good substitutes - not even comparable to BigStock (manyfold increase) and better for my portfolio than DP.

Same as last month, except for missing BME on SS due a crash in sales over the last 5 days.

So not bad, but no improvement over February 2013, with 3 days more.

Tremendous growth at Stocksy, with downloads and $$$ up about %20 or so, for a BME .

Also, Shutterstock up about %30 in $$$, for a BME there, although I feel like I've already hit "the wall".  I can tell most of my early uploads are not selling like they did initially, and I hover around the same $$$ amount daily, while I keep uploading.

Pond almost doubled from last month, which was double the month before.

123RF EVO collection is useless, since Christmas has passed.  DP still sliding from December, GL continues its slide.  Photoshelter remains around the same, and Symbio has gotten a few sales this month.

A decent month. SS down from the last two BMEs in a row, but not bad. A BME at Deposit, which isn't saying much, but it once again put iStock in the basement for the 4th month in a row.

My second best month ever, beaten only by a month I had special payment from Envato for an image in one of their bundles.  Up 35% over February, and up 31% over March 2013.  Big gains from Shutterstock (36% of my total, up 51% from February) and 123RF (30%, up 45%), followed by iStock (7%, up 64%), Dreamstime (6%, up 45%), Envato (6%, up 9%).  No one else was more than 5%.

Year over year I'm up 10%.  Biggest gains were 123RF (up 46%) and Envato (up 17%); StockFresh was up 143% but represents so few dollars it has no effect on the total.

Best month for me as well - just breached the $2750 earnings line on about 5000 - 5500 images.

FT saved the month for me with some good sales. PD positive to last year.  Disappointers included SS (flat/ small decrease from last year - and DT with about −15% decrease from last year despite 450 to 500 range new images added).  Bigstock came in about half of last year which lays to rest the idea of getting more in  sales at lower prices - it ain't happening for me and I stopped uploading new content there some months back - pity because before this debacle they could at least muster up a better RPD.  123RF and Canstock also among my decliners this month.  Small contributions from GL and Pond5 (new account). Have reduced content on iStock and that impacts sales there.  Deposit came in with some miserable performance, no doubt showing the burden of my opt out from their partnerships and deactivation of content - doesn't matter as it wasn't much sales to begin with and anyway looks like I'm on an exit road from there due agency trust issues ...

Am opting out of most distribution deals after the DP experience - I think its important for better control of my port - the opt outs now include Bigstock, 123RF, Alamy.  Veer sales are tiny most recent months and I may close account there esp. as they wont allow opt out from partnerships, as I understand.

Symbiostock is likely to be my next big stop - soon as I find time to explore setting up a site there :)

Up 23% over March 2013 for me, with SS and DT vying for top spot.  Those two sites made up 80% of my revenue, with 123RF a very distant third.  Pretty even with Feb '14.  Year over year I'm up 25% as well, versus a year up to March 2013.

Direct sales were strong again for me this month. Average monthly income from SS is up 52%, other sites pretty much even with 2013. Also, though not counted here, had a nice print sales from a show last week. Stock photo and print sales combined this year have already earned me just a hair less than 50% of all I earned from stock for the entire year in 2013, mostly due to the fact that my monthly average income from direct licensing is up 400% over last year. Hopeful re: Alamy since I found a few of my zooms there in use when I did my monthly tineye/gooogle images search, which usually means I'll see more sales reported in a couple of months. One was a calendar cover, which may not be reported for six months. Liking their lowered threshold for payouts too.

I earned a substantial portion of my non-assignment income from direct licenses and print sales last year (mostly via a bricks and mortar gallery, but with help from FAA), so the fact that print sales and direct licensing are growing is a good sign for me. Photoshelter is earning its keep.

SS made up <10% of my stock photo income this month.

March was 41% better than February. Lots of Easter but also many, many Christmas sales. Shutterstock had a strong increase, nearly 100% more than last month and four times more than Fotolia. Dreamstime was disappointing, pond5 had a very good month and more photo sales. First month without a sale on stocksy, but I only have 55 images there and last month was good.

Good month for video, but all my video sales are from pond5 and SS. I havent sold a video in months on Fotolia and no new video sales on Dreamstime.Pond5 anyway pays out 50% so they will always be my first agency for video. I am very glad to see an increase in photo sales there, I sincerely hope they become a major photo seller as well.

Just one sale on Mostphotos, but they make it all so easy, I will continue to upload there.

Overall I will be focussing on pond5, SS, Fotolia, istock and exclusive content goes to stocksy and Westend61. All the others will get files once a month or whenever I have time. I am no longer submitting to Alamy, but my files on westend61 should be going there through their distribution network.

Sean, compared to Your IS exclusive times, what does it mean financialy?
I ask because on the right statistic are IS exclusive Earnings rating still 300.
But, my IS colleagues have different infos. Not so optimistic as in this statistic.
BTW, I am not IS excl. Thanks God.

About %15-20 of what I was doing on IS, but keep in mind, I had a lot of good performing files in Agency, which is no longer an option.  Who knows what it would be today with their crazy mixing bowl.

Shutterstock had a wonderful month - 27% up over Feb and 45% up on March 2013. RPD was 92 cents - not the highest it's been but it'd be nice to see that hit $1 on a regular basis. Subs were 36% of the total

DT volume was flat with March 2013 but $$ down 18%. IMO they have driven more people to subs with their overpriced high level files - I do see some non-sub sales for the level 4 and 5 images, but not enough compared to the sub sales. It's nice to see the $2 subs in the mix, but overall DT (for me anyway) doesn't seem to have the pricing model right.

123rf keeps earning even though I don't upload there any more (because of their royalty cut from 50% to 45%) - sales were up 5% over March 2013 (although down on Mar 2012).

PhotoDune was up 45% over March 2013 (58% up on Feb 14 but that had seen an odd dip)

Veer fluctuates wildly between $200 a month and $25 a month depending on ELs  so monthly or annual comparisons make little sense. Given the small chunk of files there (only 800) that's not terrible, but I'm wrapping up there (they've "started the process" which could take 90 days apparently) because I'm sick of their partner deals and leaving is the only opt out I have.

Alamy had a couple of sales but neither that big and nothing cleared.

GL Stock manages a few a month but seems to be headed nowhere.

Others - Squashed Tree Frog

I love this :)

It was my BME. The agencies that pushed me by far up the most was Shutterstock. I had an increased of 10% compared to February and an increase of 41% compared to March 2013.

The best 4: Shutterstock, Zazzle, DepositPhotos, 123RF

Came close to having a BME - my BME is from 2009.
Rev +24% over Feb, +129% from March 2013

Stocksy: 47% BME (+23% over Feb)
SS: 25% (+62% over Feb)
DT: 12% (+79% over Feb)
FT: 11% (-34% over Feb)
123rf: 4% (+46% over Feb - though overall pityful and pityful RPD)

Decent month.  Up 11% from March 2013, up 23% from Feb 2014, but significantly below the peak in Sept-Jan.

Shutterstock back to its late 2013 glory, but iStock was the worst month since July 2011 (when my port was half as large).

Nothing from Alamy, almost nothing from 123RF.

Pond5 slowly improving (3rd month, still a smallish port).

also a BME thanks to an amazing month at Stocksy, BME. SS and FT solid BMY, iS who knows? I keep removing images to put elsewhere so it probably doesn't count much. the others were fair, nothing special.

Almost identical month to Feb, and 12% better than March 2013.

SS top seller as always with 86% of revenue
DT used to make up on average 20-25% of my revenue, and now is regularly below 15% and declining (no of sales declining monthly, despite port increasing).
IS virtually non-existant, now that they're grabbing a monthly wad out of my earnings, after having claimed to have over paid me in the past due to one of their screw-ups.
The rest of the 'also-rans' are hardly worth logging onto to check on the disappointing stats.
