Anyone else,

March took off accros the board and just plunged back to a really sloooooow month...

Sales go up sales go down, I know. Still, I am asking  ;)

I have spotted two trends (not unique here, I'm sure)

The first is that the Single and Other Downloads on SS have dropped to almost nothing: January: $120, February: $17, March: $4. I suspect it is tied to the Google Images change, but that is having a big impact on my SS earnings.

iStock just seems to have similarly disappeared for me. I know we have all seen the drops there, but this year seems to have compounded the problem. Ignoring the PP earnings, Jan was $219, Feb was $146, March so far is $45 and we are almost half way through the month. Putting on my tinfoil cap, I wonder if we are being penalized for deleting images!

I was away when Google changed ... I think ... and haven't really read much about since returning.
My Jan/Feb sales at SS were quite good.  The bottom has dropped out in March.
How do you think Google is affecting SS sales?
Thanks,
Warren

Jan was a BME by quite a bit, but then Feb took a dive and March isn't looking great either.

I have also noticed a major slowdown on SS with Single & Other downloads and ED's compared with my average.

iStock...well, I can't believe how slow they have become. Without the PP it would surely drop to a Low Earner on the poll.

It seems pretty normal. Slow at some places and busy at others, but it all usually balances out by the end of the month. Overall, it looks on pace to be a normal month though.

I think it's just random as I have already made more on SODs this month than I did last month.

If you did not start this tread, I might have. Have 100% the same experience with the extreme fast start.  It was the same in Feb. However, the total month last month was still a very good sales month for me overall (and probably this one will as well). Just the first weeks that set off like turbo charged rockets.

Maybe a lot of European buyers are stuck in snow:

Same here. Perhaps not quite up to March's usual pace though as for me it is usually the best month of the year.

For me as well. Just thought it was going to be a massive increase after the first week, but then it suddenly lost pace. Will probably still turn out best month of year for me though.

If you deleted images then I bet they won't sell anymore.  Call me crazy but that's my theory!  :o

I wonder about the -2 (at the moment) on this post??  It's a true statement - if it's not for sale it won't sell.

I have stopped wondering about member's use of the - feature a while ago, as it seems quite brainless many times. The instance you mention here is 1. Then the OP has -2 so far for sharing his experience. No opinion involved, yet two people found reason in their minds to give the OP a - for asking a question based on his experience.  Or is it just purely personal based on the persons name asking the question?

Well back to topic I guess.

Funny thing, I deactivated my images on IS, but my earnings keep increasing. So I would not be so sure of what you are saying is true.

^ Mine has been pretty good - took off at the start, now more back to normal, but if it carries on being even average it could wind up as a BME... first one for a year.

I have been wondering if anyone has done a chart of Micro sales vs the stock market ( dow jones)  It would be interesting to see if there is any type of relationship....

Well I guess that there's certainly a relationship between the levels of business activity and the demand for stock images. That doesn't necessarily corelate to the Dow Jones though. The only reason that the DJ, FTSE, etc are rising now is because, with interest rates so low, it is considered the least worse option for spare investment funds.

Reminds me of Vancouver, Canada. When China's economy booms so does Vancouver's real estate market. And when China's economy is on the down turn....Vancouver's real estate stagnates. I'm sure there's a correlation with the world economy and the Microstock industry.

Usually March and November were best months for stock. Last November was good, but not great and so far I don't think March is going to be a record breaker despite the fact I'm uploading regularly. The fact that there are 10 weekend days this month doesn't help either.
SODs down, but not significantly.
