to recap my first two month of microstock, the speculations by some of you were quite right. The first three weeks I had a lot of sales, 81 sales in 3 weeks, then february it dropped to 28 for the whole month (only SS figures). So new pictures are def. pushed.
Overall, I earned 140$ in the first month, and in february only 90$ - (114 and 74$ of those with Video - and I have 2,5 times more photos online than videos)
- concluded from that, putting effort in the photo section isn't worth it at all and I will focus on Video.
Hope to see more sales coming with the last added Videos and doubling my Portfolio...

apart from that - I submit to Adobe stock - SS - VB and ME at the Moment... considering PIXTA and 123rf for Video as well .... any experiences for with footage sales recently there? those agencys have at least a decent pricing... not like VH.

maybe you sholud consider also Pond5 for Videos

I had a very similar experience. Been uploading 4k video since Sept last year and had great sales for the first three months and then it slowed right down despite adding more content.

I upload to all the main video agencies (Pond5, Shutterstock, 123RF, VideoBlocks, VideoHive, Adobe Stock, iStock and Motion Elements) just to test the water at first. The results have been interesting and I guess it all depends on what type of content you upload. Moving forward Ill be dropping 123RF and Motion Elements (0 sales) and iStock. Shutterstock, VideoBlocks and VideoHive have all seen excellent sales for me with some nice extra ones from Adobe and Pond5.

If you enjoy it, I think its worth sticking with it, upload to all the sites you can, and then drill down into the figures to see which agencies to focus your efforts on.

Buyers may not search the way you think all the time, so sticking to what's in your scene/footage is important, but - as an example - including living room, cozy, house, home, interior along with fireplace, mantel, mantelpiece, gas fire (or wood or whatever) may well help your files sell if the buyer looks for "cozy living room" not "warm fireplace".

Looking at Shutterstock's list of keywords used to find my sold files,  I see some files have house selling more than home and others the opposite - so I now always include both; for interior shots, sometimes room is more important than bedroom or living room, and so on.

Also consider that buyers may use local versions of a website (for example, it.fotolia.com) and your keywords will be translated automatically to be found by those users. So you don't really know what foreign buyers will search for, what words they'll use.

okay i will consider adding more relevant keywords :) maybe that helps.
at the moment all my available content is tagged anyway.... the topic will come up again for lots of videos in January '18 after a big journey... can't wait to shoot and upload more :)

The drop off may also be due to your files dropping in the "New" or "Most Recent" searches. I usually notice a week long spike in new upload sales then the sales for those files slow down but the good quality content continues to sell well down the road, especially if it makes it to the front page of search results

erm...just got the first payment mail from shutterstock...which is somewhat strange. I only earned about 59 bucks and the payment mail says the payout was calculated to 118$.....

Is it a little gift :D?
should I "complain"? anyone experiences this before?
