Do u use refferal links, or are you sneaking in on your own when you find out about a new site?

I had this "I got caught" feeling a few weeks ago,when I came to a new site with the welcome message. Hi, you are reffered by .... But what is there to loose. It´s ridiculus:)

I got the feeling. Everyone´s got refferallinks but nobody uses others.

I use referrals when I can.  I try to find someone I know and use theirs.  Well - someone I know from here for the amount you can get to know someone on a forum  .  The unfortunate part is that any sites that I will sign up to now will likely be dogs for a year or two and my referral will be useless to them or it may expire by the time sales actually kick in.  Adelaide has always been a good supporter of Featurepics so I searched around for her referral code and I signed up under her this year - yet neither one of us has made a cent from me!

I clicked a link to MostPhotos once and when I actually went back to sign up there was someone's user name in my referral link that I didn't know.  Maybe it was the wrong thing to do (since they did "refer" me after all) - but I deleted my cookies so that the user's name was gone from my referral code.  Not like they would have made anything from me in the end.  Hmm, I can't even remember who I signed up under.  (Oh well, not like they would have made anything yet, LOL).

If you feel someone has been helpful to you or you enjoy their blogs, websites etc. I think that using the referral links should be natural and a tip of the hat to that person.  

After all - if you don't use a referral code, it's just another few cents per sale in the agency's pocket.

I think I used Lee Torren's link somewhere. Don't remember, but I seem to recall hearing from him about being one of his referrals. Hope it's paying well.

Anyone else have any MSG regulars on their referral lists?

Is there anyway to find out if we are refrerals for somebody else as I may well have clicked on refreral links without realizing it.

I don't have any plans on slowing down at SS any time soon, and I'm on pace for another BME for May, so enjoy the extra bucks.

I really need to update my website and get my referral links more visible. I don't have a single one at SS, and just a few at IS and StockXpert. But those are all one-time payments. I need a few SS referrals.

If the forums turned into just a place to spam referral links, then sure I could see how people would get annoyed. But it's not like that, and I think people are generally pretty good about how they give out their links. So I don't see a problem with it, nor do I see why people get upset about it.

It's another part of the business, another way to generate some extra income. I'm sure SS gives referral payments some serious consideration, especially at a time when they are contemplating a raise. Why shouldn't contributors give referrals the same consideration, actively trying to get the most that they can out of the system? Spamming might be going too far, but I don't see any reason why someone shouldn't put their links out there beyond just having a link on a blog or website. No harm in it really.
