With much talk lately of rejections and how demoralising they can be, I would like to once again draw attention to the "Reasons" given which are frequently way off the mark and often farcical.

I mean, how can a batch of images be judged as all “out of focus”, or when clearly they are not. This is all the more questionable when some shots are landscapes which have been taken with apertures of F16 or more.

F16 or higher is not a guarantee of a sharp image.  In fact, most lenses are best around the mid aps.

I think the point was DOF, not maximum sharpness Wink

"Maximum sharpness" == "something in the image is in acceptable focus" .  Shooting at f16 does not necessarily guarantee an image that appears in focus.

Right diffraction is the limiting factor even with a FF-Camera it is not a good idea to shoot with such a closed aperture without a specific reason. With even small sensors diffraction at f16 is even more limiting and does make your picture loosing a lot of sharpness.
