I use to get 10--15 downloads a day on Shutterstock and now I'm only getting one or two a day. I'm worried. Should I be?
-
Yes
This whole industry is getting flooded with content, thus making all our tiny portfolios even smaller
SS is accepting 1M images each week! ONE MILLION!!
Their initial test to enter is 1/10
Who cant pass that?
See where this is going?

Inevitably with growth in uploads outstripping growth in demand on average we are going to lose out. So we can either work harder, smarter or look for other channels/income streams. Thats the harsh reality...."worrying" is perfectly natural but in the end you have to decide your own approach on how to deal with this climate.

Couldnt agree more^^ its become a joke! completely detrimental to the whole industry and whats even worth is that anything seems to get accepted. This is whatI meant when saying SS certainly isnt helping micro-stock if anything its destroying the whole game.

I also bumped into a course on Skillshare about getting into microstock, especially SS. So many new submitters, no way can new buyers match this...
