My Shutterstock sales have tanked.  Only (2) downloads a day when I had 20-30.  What happened?  Is there a re-bound?  Thanks.

Yes, April has been a total disaster and May so far is ghost town.
SS has always been by far my best performing (almost exclusively video).
I have only been around for two years, so I was constantly increasing until April.
For such a sudden disaster there must be some reasons

I think it has a lot to do with the way the wind is blowing. I did terribly in February, but well in march. It's how they tweak their search engine. Let's hope the wind will blow your way soon.

Number of downloads have dropped substantially from April 2016.  But my earnings have remained constant.

I think AdobeStock and Canva are poaching . out of Shutterstock this year.  It's a shame because Shutterstock is the only site I have where I can on occasion see large money sales > $100/image.

Besides the number of downloads dropped in April, the average sale for video used to be $25 with a good deal of much higher sales.
In the last 5 weeks the average sale has dropped to $17 (unlucky number in Italy...) and no big sales anymore

Almost every old contributor  I privately know is down almost the same percentage 40-50% and its been going on so long now that it cant be the search. It seems that its a cut-off thing either to give new people a fair crack or its geographical it goes to certain countries?

I really dont know and have stopped caring about it since I stopped uploading mainly because I find HCV files with MRs and PRs just dissapearing.

I lay my efforts with a couple of macro agencies and thats that. :)

I remember when it was almost unthinkable that SS would make as much as iS. Now iS is struggling to keep up with DT.

Haha^^ yes I remember it well and IS was king never to be toppled. Funny thought isnt it if Bruce had stayed with IS and not sold out to Getty? what would the situation be like today?

April was my worst month since December 2011, when I had only 40% of the portfolio I have today

Yep, big decline - 2 years ago was the peak for me. Since then downhill.

Hoping other agencies pick up the slack, but they don't seem to be to the point where it covers what SS is loosing for me.

I not sure about still image, but the video side Shutterstock have they 'own' content, so i guess the search engine is bias to they content while regular content being capped.
I think the future for agency is having they own content from buy-out.

Down 40-50% over what period?  I'm a relative old timer and I'm down 75% from my SS heyday, but only about 10% from last year and just a slight drop from March, which is historically a top month for me.
