The thread was posted 18th April on SS and I'm almost 100% certain that Sean is wrong and that it appeared the same day on IS as I saw it for the first time on IS that same day and it only had one reply when I saw it.

it seems strange that Yuri would submit an old IS thread here. although, you are right, he has been here several times in the past year as i recognize the avatar .
then again, Yuri never comes in here unless he had something troubling him or to point out something unpleasant eg. the case with his model .  but i am sure it is him.

No, it is/was a copy paste from his iStock blog.  You can still see it here:

Nothing wrong with repurposing it on his site though.

The post got banned/closed at Istock. It was originally launched at my blog a couple of weeks ago.

Best Regards Yuri Arcurs

now i'm truly confused, Yuri ! why did they ban it? you never said anything offensive about IStock or whatever. it was all hypothetical. the mind boggles.

I think that the comment from Lobo (closing the thread) was that it was "shameless self-promotion"....

Well, I certainly agree with Lobo, Mr. Arcurs. I've checked your portfolio and I think you  desperately need all the self promo you can get  ;)

I don't care, since Arcur's blog is in my feeds. His most recent post "I spy with my little eye" of May 2 is quite instructive. Don't need iStock to find it.

Agreed. That's a worthwhile and quick little read.

It's still in Yuri's blog on iStock.  I think the problem was copy and pasting it into the forum on the same day it was promo'd here on his blog to get traffic there.  Just my guess.

"The "I spy" concept was introduced to me by Scott Gordon, former Chief Creative Editor for Veer Images (and now part of the Yuri Arcurs Production team)."

Good thing you snapped him up ;)

Yeah but once the guys revealed the secrets of the 'peek a boo' concept Yuri can sack him  ;D

I enjoyed the "I Spy" too. Realistically those shots could very well be rejected at micros for composition  ::)
