It seems like the norwegian newspaper Vart Land has started using a few istock images.  I there is usually between 0-3 images used each day.  They also buy from macro stock agencies, Scanpix (a major scandinavian agency). Here is a page with 2 istock images.. i couldn't find out whose they were though.

Found this image of mine

(http://static.fotolia.com/photos_mini/2006-03/110_F_271022_nuHaOpdwEBcQDAbuqe2hzIjXzHi1B7.jpg) (http://www.fotolia.com/id/271022)

on this website (http://www.masternewmedia.org/new_media_tools/new_media_picks/new_media_picks_of_the_week_20060115.htm)

It looks like they use a different image (i think from fotolia) each week in their new media collum

Google your photographer name and you might find some of your images. My name is rare in google, so that works well for me, however, it might be hard to find some of your images if you have a common name..

also, once the search reults show up, click on the 'images' link (on the top).. this will show you all images related with those keywords.

Unfortunately Google returned only my portfolios at stock photo sites (I looked at the first 5 pages only) and the images link returned irrelevant results.  :(

I saw an ad on a newspaper magazine today which used graphics that I think come from stock photo sites (at least they are very similar in style with what we see).  I'll photograph them and post them here.

I just found one of my images (purchased from Fotolia) being used on a church website.  It's nice to be able to find one every once in a while.

Here is the original image:

And here is the website that it is being used on:

Geopappas - the church website is probably wondering why it is getting so many hits.  NOt sure how the second fotolia "similia" photo relates though

yeah, it looks good on there.

It is nice to see companies, or organizations with a budget of basically zero making use of microstock.  That is what it is there for I think.

So far i manage to locate my photo on 11 sites/articles.

The most outrageous photo must be on this gay/lesbian site.
http://content.onlineagency.com/c/3/3072/936043_3072.htm

Had a good laugh over it.

Another site I found, someone uses my photo and make them available for purchase on T-shirt.
Send an email to the company and they stop it.

I have just started doing some photography for a real estate photography company, and they have some images which we can use for sky background when we end up photographing a house on a cloudy day.  I was looking at the images that were avaialbe and many had the name istock2839... and so on... so they were obviously downloaded at istock.

another use of our images. :)

Ok, gang, this is a strange one. These two shots were bought from Fotolia. (Used FP, link to FT wasn't easy)

Somebody bought both and turned it into this...

What do you think?
Title: Re: Tear Sheets - Post your finds here
Post by: berryspun on November 11, 2006, 23:36
Are you asking about the legality of it or the transformation abuse?

Legally, I wonder if the person who bought your copyrighted image (Marco Piono?) can use it and claim another copyright for a collage he made.  I am not an expert in that field.

Aesthetically, I find this montage weird and disturbing.  Everyone their taste I suppose.  I like the original pictures.
Title: Re: Tear Sheets - Post your finds here
Post by: leaf on November 12, 2006, 05:38
was it used as an add for something?

Sure he can claim copyright for the collage... he just can't sell it as stock photography. But he can sell it as advertising, design, or art.

I don't think all of them are mine. Hard to tell. Some were turned or changed. Some look like mine, so don't.  Fotolia gives you info on who bought your shots. I assume he bought others as well.

Wasn't really asking anything, just thought it was odd.

Sorry to disappoint you dbvirage because you are a great person, but that photo doesn't use the your photos that you point to. I ran a comparative program that says that you're photos are only a 10% match to the photo. So, there is a 90% chance that you are not the father.

There was just a Supreme Court ruling about tranformational art that allowed the use of a photograph.  There was another one a few years ago that made an artist pay the photographer.

One of the key issues is whether the artist has made things available before, etc. etc.  Puttin an image out there for sale means you are giving up a lot of control. Since the stock license agreements are pretty loose, it's probably legal.

Sorry, YY, just now saw your reply. They don't look much like anybody's jellyfish, but that's cool. They paid for them, they can use them or not.

Got another one though. Haven't found the mag, but the graphics artist for the mag contacted me.

I wanted to shoot some houses as I had one that sells one. Found a nice neighborhood and shot 15 houses. Generic looking, slight variations from house to house. For some reason, one of them sells many more than all the rest combined.

Anyway, this mag wanted a picture of a generic looking house that looks like it might be in Atlanta, so they go to Istock - a Canadian site as you know. She finds my house - no reference to Atlanta or any indication it was shot here.

The distribtution of the magazine is to the part of the city that I live in and the house is located. Guess what? The owner gets a copy of the mag and calls the mag. She contacts me via email with the file ID to ask me if there was any chance the house was the one in question.

At any rate, it created a good contact and possible future work with the mag.

I lost my dog, Buddy, a few months ago to cancer.  He was such a good dog.  We got another puppy shortly after.  I was missing Buddy tremendously and wanted to get out of the house so I took the new puppy to Petco.  At the checkout counter, there Buddy was, smiling on the cover of a book.  It was awesome, I got over the loss that night.  Credits were given to me/Shutterstock and also two other people from Shutterstock for inside images.  (He wasn't even full Golden Retriever)

HEY TYLER/LEAF -  I can't figure out how to insert an image... I'll try to attach a pdf....  wish me luck.

The inside of this flyer isn't entirely original they wanted it styled off their old ones...  still a bit of fine tuning but almost ready to go.  Downloaded one of your images bottom right...   Sorry, old credits.  Won't even be enough to buy a real cappuccino - but thought you'd like to see!

I know, I know... if I was a "real" stock photographer I would have shot these images instead of purchasing them.  Sigh.

Yep, it sure is. It's a very high profile publication round these parts, and I got a lot of "I knew that had to be you!" comments when people saw it.

What I really want to see is one of mine on the side/back of a bus. I'll have arrived once that happens! (big smile)

Congrats to everyone on your finds!  Out of sheer boredom one day I created a page on my website where I keep a collection of places I have found my images.  Given how difficult (or nearly impossible) it is to know where ones images are being used I feel enormously fortunate to have found these.  Some I found myself but many were found by other microstockers that were kind enough to let me know about them.  Many thanks to those folks!!

pixelbrat,

I was thinking of that yesterday, after I posted these findings here.  Anytime these sites may change their images and I'll lose these examples, so I will take screenshots and put them in my website.  I only wished I could find more of them... The three I found were by searching buyers names in FT.  One person in DT sent me a not saying he'd use my image in a blog, I asked the URL but never got a reply.

sharply_done,

I love that image too - the near-monochrome look and the reflected silhouettes are so nice!  I tried to make similar images afterwards, in other airports, but never got the right conditions.

Adelaide

http://www.granitmarmur.pl/blaty_lazienkowe,2 (http://www.granitmarmur.pl/blaty_lazienkowe,2)

Mine is the one in the middle of the first row (102): http://us.fotolia.com/id/2373889

I found other two (not mine) that are in FT as well: http://us.fotolia.com/id/1398075 and http://us.fotolia.com/id/3433448

Now, does someone here know Polish and can tell me what they say there?  They are just giving an example, or do they claim it to be one of their works?

Regards,
Adelaide

I'm not Polish, but I play one on TV.  :-)

It looks like they sell granite and these are examples of their products. Don't know if yours really is, or it's close enough. Kind of a strange way to get product images.

I found my "famous" sun illustration here (It's the first time I see it in use!) :D :

And my dumbbells in the first image here:

http://www.aqua-maris.de/content/blogcategory/19/33/ (http://www.aqua-maris.de/content/blogcategory/19/33/)

Credits say they were downloaded from Fotolia.  I'm really thankful to the German designers who so often credit photographers for the images used.

Here's a couple of my favorite finds...

Photoshop CS3 Visual Quickstart Guide (book).  My photo is featured on four pages, and there are a ton of other photos purchased from SS.

http://safari.oreilly.com/9780321473790/ch08lev1sec3#snippet

Scientific American (magazine website).  This was my first photo found in a big time publication, and it's of my daughter.  Very exciting!  I've also found one on Forbes magazine's website.

OK, I want to play but I haven't found any sales yet.  So here's one of mine that traveled across the united states from one new station to another with "30 photos that make you go awwww".  They were everywhere!  I was right up there next to Getty Image pics so I was proud.  Been in the local paper for fire shots as well, but nothing I was paid for.

A friend of my sons sent him a cell phone pic after seeing his photo in Los Angeles Magazine.  We were shocked and then laughed our heads off.  My sons name is Jim, yet the writer named him "Craig".  The one page article is hilarious.

A monthly newspaper published by the Swiss Protestant church - Bonne Nouvelle ('Good News') dropped into my letterbox this morning.

I was idly thumbing through it and there, on the middle page, was one of my images ...

... bought from iStock.

It's a little church, up amongst the vineyards in a village called Luins not far from where I live.

Ever so slightly ironic. One of my images in a religious newspaper ... and me a devout atheist.   :o :o

(Actually, I now think this is a pretty lousy shot. The lighting is awfully flat. I've got a much better one on Alamy. Pity they didn't buy that one  >:(  )

Just found one of my images being used on the front cover of a magazine aimed at rich Chinese ...

Not sure which agency they bought it from. I'm going to contact the publishers to see if they'll send me a copy.

And, I must admit, it is a little galling that it probably went for a couple of bucks. Mind you, on the plus side, it's earned a few bucks from other sales, too ... though not enough to put me up with those rich Chinese.

What .. I'm happy doing what I'm doing.

(P.S. I also found this using Tin Eye. Brilliant search engine for images.)

I was reading the June issue of Costco Connections (Costco is a major wholesaler here in the US) and when I saw the advertisement I thought "hey that's somebody's from MSG". It's VikaValter's and is on page 41 for a Greens to Go ad. I'll see if I can do a scan of it when I get a chance.

not very important, but to say nevertheless - unfortunately it's not Hungarian, but Croatian :)

It seemed like last year at this time it was pretty limited what you would find from microstock in major publications. I don't think that is the case anymore.

Also interesting that magazines for the filthy rich who have luxury item advertisers are using Microstock images.

Actually, you don't need a huge photo for an outdoor sign. At work I set up the posters and bulletins in a page layout program or Photoshop from 9-13 inches wide at 300 dpi which is adequate for the OD company to upscale. Since it is at a distance, the final product can be a fairly low resolution.

One of my photos arrived in my mailbox on a garbage calendar ;) - a shot of Toronto skyline.

It was lying in my home for two weeks before I actually took a look at it, then about 15 minutes later I started wondering if the publisher used a stock photo for it. When I started to check if the logos are gone from the buildings I realized that the crappy cloning job is actually my own handiwork :)

No EL thou on that photo so I wonder how many copies are being distributed.

This is the one:

Perhaps this thread should be rethought - I might like it better if people posted only their own high profile placings and/or other peoples images they've run across.

I found the same image in two sites.

In one, it was used to make the company's logo - this requires EL in any agency, right?

(http://www.casesolare.ro/casesolare.ro/catalog/images/store_logo.png) (http://www.casesolare.ro/casesolare.ro/catalog/index.php/?osCsid=d1aa7a087621c35913256935145bd126)

In another, it was used to create a new image that is, as far as I understand, freely used.  I suppose this is allowed as it is a derivative work - or not?

Maybe Shell doesn't know it.  They probably hire some webdesign bureau for the site design, then only update info internally.

I don't run into my pics too often but on a recent trip, I was killing time browsing through a free magazine and found a full page pic of mine, then turned the page to find another 1/2 page pic.  On the flight, there was another pic i took in an ad :)

Finding that one was not such a warm feeling. I don't believe I sold a license enabling the buyer to put the photo on CD covers for that photo. Or maybe I didn't read the fine prints...

I laso found an image in a CD cover (it may be here in this thread) and I asked if this was correct without an EL (no answer), as I never sold it as EL.  To me, this and book covers are the kind of use that should require a EL.  People don't buy the CD or a book for the cover, but a good cover does attract buyers.

I had never tried this approach.  Instead of the "@" I have just typed my ID and fotolia, and found one image was used in a book - unfortunately the page with my image is not available.  Leaf is also cited there, but his image is also missing.  A lot of other names, not just IDs, should anyone be interested:

http://books.google.com/books?id=t64--7FPwKYC&pg=PA4&lpg=PA4&dq=%22madelaide%22+%22fotolia%22&source=bl&ots=snMA8eztg7&sig=POnkyhNm6txJ8Y8BkKdb1jRPe5o&hl=en&ei=DTsCSs2tGNLHtgep1aCIBw&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=10#PPA4,M1

Credits are given in this page:
http://pianoprofessionals.com/copyright.html
but I suppose my image (in the backgound) could not be used at this large size (1300x968)?

This one is still a mystery as the image have been quite photoshoped. I have many medal's ribbon like this and I never saw other people using this red ribbon yet. It must have been downloaded as EL... Still can't be sure which image it was or even if it was me. Note: The medal is not mine and is an illustration added

Here's a cool find story...

I'm at a trade show for my "day job."  We have a booth and I'm typically chained to it, pushing my products.  I got a chance to walk around, and a sales sheet catches my eye.  They're using one of my images as the core piece of design on the fact sheet.  I got excited, grabbed a bunch and kept walking.  Then I realized that the company advertised on the piece is a competitor.  Argh.  Oh well, still a thrilling moment.  (Cooler yet, I remember one year ago walking the floor at this show, thinking that it would be cool to come back in a year after my microstock portfolio grows and see my images in use.  It came true... just too bad that it's my competition using them!)

I'll probably buy since it appears to be my kind of reading.........hard copy out a little later.

only 10 per event are obligatory, but they'd like to see as many as you have. nevertheless, your images become theirs exclusively for 2 years, irregardless of whether you upload them or not. i'd use your own contact whenever possible rather than the Red Carpet program, even if they are a great team to work with.

For those that have a famous "Welcome to Las Vegas Sign" photo in their portfolio I recently saw a deck of playing cards for sale in a Safeway grocery store with that image on them ...

I tried to determine who the image belong to but there are just too many of this particular type of photo on the major sites. If you have an EL on this type of image you might want to checkout the card decks at a Safeway.

I am still looking for my first tear sheet  ::)

Today I found my very first tear sheet  !

I randomly clicked on an advertisement for "Seattle 1-Day coupons" for a link on Facebook which I thought would be a cool link to ad to a Facebook group that I had recently formed. The link later asked me to click on a city. I then clicked on Seattle. I was brought to the following page.

https://livingsocial.com/deals/people/2114568/invites/new?skippable=true (https://livingsocial.com/deals/people/2114568/invites/new?skippable=true)

My image is the Seattle Skyline with Mt. Rainier and the Space Needle. I do realize this is a popular vantage point but the image is definitely mine as the haze and slivers of buildings match up precisely ...

The helmet is my grandson's; the image is mine.  The color of the goggle lens was changed to match the designer's color scheme.  I stumbled across this via a link from a motocross site that I visit dailey.  No idea which agency it came from.  I have it uploaded to several.

Thanks.

Have you tried using http://www.tineye.com/ (http://www.tineye.com/)

also try using
©Anita Potter / Shutterstock (or other agency name)
and other search engines - Bing & Yahoo you will get different results.

But honestly you haven't been at this that long and not that many sales so I wouldn't expect to find much yet.
Be patient and check weekly.
Also it's easier for those of us who have less common surnames to find our images in use.
Hang in there you'll eventually find some.

Steve

sc,

The © hint was interesting, I never tried it.  It ddin't seem to return much different results than without it though, even having it in quotes with my name.

I found my name here: http://ish.messefrankfurt.com/frankfurt/en/toolbar/about.html (http://ish.messefrankfurt.com/frankfurt/en/toolbar/about.html)
but did'nt find any of my images. It's  huge site though, I'm sure I haven't seen all pages.

Received recently a message from author on IS that my image was used in this book. I went ahead and bought it (color edition) - and was really surprised. Each page of this book (> 150 pages) has at least one photo from IS (with proper attributing). Several by Sjlocke, at least couple by Lisafx.

Looks like Sonia made a point by sending messages to authors, so perhaps this is not news for most of you, but I could not stop myself sharing this.

Beware of the TinEye be ready to find ones you did not want to find.

That said this is the first one I found that got me excited, this is a drawing I did of my mom as a minister, after she died, it was a part of my mourning process to draw her and art most of my best selling and stolen images. It was fun to find this image usage. My mom loved Gods almost everyone's she loved to pray meditate all that, she was also a bit naughty and loved sex. If she could see this she would have bought the book! Sometimes I create stock images I know very well will not sell often, but I want to be an artist and do some that serves, as a feminist I think there should be more women preachers.

Going on three years, or is it four, and the next one will be my first. Magazines and newspapers don't count, I'm only talking about anything from Microstock. I mean, come on, I got my quarter, I want to see how my work was used! ;)

I would have thought that one of my three "best sellers" from SS would have shown up someplace by now. Two are very distinctive, the third could have been done by almost anyone, except for some small details.

Yes I've searched my name, with (C), with the full name, with the agency, and just about any variation I could think of. Just for entertainment because once someone pays, I honestly don't care. But I find it interesting that people have found book covers (I have two and don't know what book they are on) and packages and products.

It would be fun to find one some day. :D

Nice that someone revived the thread for other reasons, or I would have missed it.

Historical photography is what I always enjoyed. I should have just walked down the street and shot life in general for 20 years. Ah, but after the fact, and too old, it's too late.

So I say, great that you shot some old smoking, crappy, out of business, grease blowing machines. Without people like you, we'd only have blowhards talking, and no pictures to prove what really happened!  :D

Surprising that people care more about receptionist answering the phone, business handshake, slice vegetables, and "stuff you find about the house" isolated on white. When the real meat isn't as marketable or profitable, but it's historical photography of the simple things in life.

Remember that intersection down the street, now it's a strip mall, glass sided travel agency, and quick mart gas station, it used to be an old grocery store on one corner, machine shop on the other and old "service station" with some interesting gas pumps.

Here's my messages for all of us. When you are bored or not shooting perfectly bland Microstock. Go out for a walk and shoot the community around you. Save it on a CD and place it somewhere for the future. Businesses, people, the shopping area, old buildings, which will disappear in 20 years or next year, in some cases. Just record life, for the future.

Nice going Warren, you did it!

This find is truly special to me.  The old dude in the red shirt is my dad finishing up an 8 mile leg of a relay that took him up an 8% grade above Lake Tahoe for 6 of the 8 miles.  What's so special about it is he was a plant pathologist at the University of California-Berkeley for over 30 years, and here he is featured on the cover University of California "California Agriculture" magazine, which he used to read back in the day.   ;D  It's PERFECT!!!  The photo editors had no idea who he was...just found it on the micros like everyone else.  LOL  Dad will turn 79 in a few weeks.

Oh wow, that's a great story!    Did he pick up a few copies for the relatives?

My brother in law is a principal and he's in some of my classroom photos with his kids - they keep popping up all over his school division and in different newspapers and they gets so many "Is that you" calls.  (I wonder if he'd pose again or if he is sorry he did the first time!).  They went to a basketball tournament at a rival school and there is his daughter out in a wheat field on a huge spirit poster and she was on a billboard by the football stadium.  One day at University some boys were pointing at her and laughing and when she was on the way home she read the school newspaper, and there she was on a full page ad for some potash mine.  I NEVER find these photos in use, but that family keeps running into themselves everywhere!

I'm still disappointed.

When I search I find Shutterstock, Bigstock, 3dStudio and my sites and not one use of any of my images.

My best selling image across SS, and IS... never once have I found it in use and it's a virtually impossible to reproduce image. Unique! And I can't find it in use once after almost two years of sales? Dang!

Just once I want to look on a website or some ad someplace and see one of my images. This includes the Alamy sales as well, which are pretty singular.

Yes, magazines, newspapers and websites that I have sold images. I know where they went, it's no mystery. I'm saying, not one MicroStock image found ever!

Have you ever searched using your name or nickname and site name? It works sometimes when a site gives credit to the photographers (some do, even if not needed).

Added: for example, i searched for my name and Fotolia, and got this page:

And the link to my image shows they are using my buttons.

Tineye your heart. I just tried to reply to this but my post closed. :(  There are over 20 results for the heart.  Didn't even check the brain yet.  You have a lot of tears online. You just need to use the Tineye plugin and maybe not the Tineye uploader.  You have *tons* now.

Yea, only four years and there's the first one anyone found, including me. OK one is enough.

I'm still disappointed.

I went in search of one for you before and came back emptyhanded.  Not this time.

Now if I could just figure out where my vector brain and heart are at LOL (and no definitely not in my vector body ;)

Tineye your heart. I just tried to reply to this but my post closed. :(  There are over 20 results for the heart.  Didn't even check the brain yet.  You have a lot of tears online. You just need to use the Tineye plugin and maybe not the Tineye uploader.  You have *tons* now.

Here's one from Equifax:
http://tax.equifax.com/2010/11/tax-schemes-and-tax-turkeys-stay-away.html (http://tax.equifax.com/2010/11/tax-schemes-and-tax-turkeys-stay-away.html)

Hey I was just coming here to post that :D  I found it last night LOL using the tin eye plugin.  Still can't find the brain using tin eye possibly those could be downloaded by teachers and whatnot for anatomy classes.  Still can't find any of the enhanced license downloads that I've gotten (4 of them) those would be nice to see :)

Thank you for helping it's very much appreciated :)

Thanks and proof that I do actually take photos.  ;)

The pills and bottle with case was one of my original Micro application shots. 10-D, hey wait, the guy cooking (at a race track while I was wandering through the fan area) 10-D snapshot, and the wreath? Stone Mountain GA on vacation, saw it, snapped it, which probably would lead to the airplane being loaded, also last airline trip I took, bored in the airport, looking out the window, which was to Atlanta = same trip five years ago.

So since then, new camera(s), all "L" lenses, better understanding of Micro demands and processing, and what sells? My CrapStock! Things I took with a pocket camera. Stuff from the 10-D with a 28-135 zoom lens. Flatbed scans!  ???

The Crapstock website is coming soon. I won't have anything for sale, probably wouldn't be anything but a joke, but it will have links to my SS, IS, BS, ThinkStock and Mostphoto collections? LOL

Sorry not spamming the link...

Originally:
A page cut or torn from a periodical and used chiefly to provide evidence to an advertiser of the publication of an advertisement.

Now, a page torn from a publication, proving that the photographer has been published in that publication. Usually a collection to show previous work and status. Kind of like proof that you aren't just blowing smoke about your sale of a double truck to XYZ magazine last year.

Probably more modern version instead of people clipping or "tearing" pages out of bound works, is a scan of published materials, as proof of publication. Instead of carrying a scahel full of books and magazines, you can just carry a file folder of tear sheets. Again modern, you just have some scans on a thumb drive.  :D

In general I'd say it's just a proof of publication, although some other industries may have adopted the term for their use. It's from Journalism and publishing.

I would be so proud if they chose one of my images.  Good for you!  ;D

I've been designing a cover for a stocks- and bonds investors' magazine for over a year now, soursing images mainly from Shutterstock. Although I usually go to the trouble of notifying the photographers directly, due to the tight deadlines, I didn't in this case. Some images were shot by us, but most covers were compiled from 3 to 7 individual images. You might find one of yours here:

http://veb.net/content/HoofdMenu/Effect/2012/Effect2012.aspx?Page=1 (http://veb.net/content/HoofdMenu/Effect/2012/Effect2012.aspx?Page=1)

If one of the images is yours, I'll be happy to send you a full size PDF of the cover via email. (With translation, if necessary)

Used to do tear sheets all the time but for some reason the past few years I didn't bother - so many thanks for this thread it sent me on a little hunt and here's a couple of mine.

Mine is the Amur Leopard in the top right corner - purchased from alamy.com and I must say I am well proud to have been featured on a first class stamp! :D

Not sure which agency they bought it via as it is with 4 agencies but nice to have a magazine cover :)

Book cover for David Bruce - Funniest people in television - purchased through Dreamstime.

Found dozens and dozens used on websites and probably about 60% of those were bought through fotolia so a shout out to them.

Hope you enjoy, Cheers, D

I do a combination of searches, using both google images and tineye. Sometimes one picks up something that the other doesn't. You can get plugs-ins for both for your browser.
I've also found my stuff just reading magazines I get and even once someone posted an article on facebook and as I read it, I came upon one of my photos. But tineye and google images are the best way to find them. Good luck finding yours.

Did you sell one of your Alamy or Dreamstime or other New England photos recently?

Alamy licensed two of my photos to the DK Eyewitness Guide to New England 2014 and in looking through the credits I noticed that along with Corbis, Getty, and the usual traditional outlets, Dreamstime was the only micro site they used.

Here's the credits page in case anyone has a photo in there: http://tinyurl.com/p5nxpee (http://tinyurl.com/p5nxpee)

(You can see one of mine on p.172 - full page. I only have it on Alamy and a few small trads in Europe, so I made a decent amount, though less than half of what I would have gotten for a full page photo a few years back).  It would be interesting to know if they're still paying with credits at DT, or, given the vast number of photos they must purchase, if they've changed to subs there.

I just got this email from Facebook and recognized the models right away.  I'm not sure whose image this is but it is from the last MEXPO during the group shoot.  Fun to see someone's shot in use.

A funny one:

just found my image of Llandudno, Cape Town, South Africa (http://de.fotolia.com/id/63538222)

in use to advertise travels to Llandudno, Wales ;D

Two different uses, both pointing to the wrong place:

Exactly, he signed up one week ago and is bringing topics alive from the dead and does not react to any comments on him. Spammer first class.

Nah mate, I was curious about what a tear sheet is. Also, I'm trying to help out the forum when I see dead internal links. It isn't my intention to spam, I'm trying to contribute to the conversation. If posting on old threads is against the rules here, I will stop. I see plenty of other members with their personal websites in their signatures, I didn't think it was an issue.

Google your photographer name and you might find some of your images. My name is rare in google, so that works well for me, however, it might be hard to find some of your images if you have a common name..
Luckily Merrillie is rare too, quite easy to find where some of mine are used once I get past the stock sites and Flickr.

While I understand wanting to get traffic to your site - yes, you are spamming, and you know it - that's why you are doing it. It's not the first time someone has done that.

Stop it. Thanks.

My model here is not a veteran - I know there was a NYTimes case that said it was okay to use an image of a person in this way even if they are not actually in the profession mentioned. Just glad it's his back. I submitted it as editorial only.

Actually, given today's prices I'm happy with this one - I made $30+ on ss for it, so I made payout LOL. I've hardly uploaded anything there in years, but it's generally my best bet for editorial images. They've licensed others from this set too.

I was driving from Ohio to New York and it was a beautiful autumn day. As we approached Harrisburg, PA, it seemed like a good place to stretch our legs. I took photos (of course) while wandering around. It's got a nice downtown area with pretty brick buildings. I enjoy architectural photography and managed to get in some of my steps despite a long day in the car. So I guess it was a win-win.
