Just out of curiosity I did a check today to see which sites out of the top 4 had the highest of number of unsold files from my portfolio, I was surprised to see that Fotolia had three times as many unsold files compared to iStock and Dreamstime.

How about you?

I've only included the top tier sites and Shutterstock has been omitted because I couldn't find an easy way of doing the test, plus I'm pretty confident most of my files have sold on SS.

Edited to now included Shutterstock based on Pixarts suggestion for checking the unsold files.

Last month my highest number of no-sellers would have been Fotolia by a far shot, but I've started deleting from the bottom.  I've left a few of the newer ones with no sales.  Still on the fence if I am staying so I've left sellers and new.

Not 100% accurate for SS, but if you go to the 25 per day tab it shows 20 photos per page - multiply 20 by the number of pages, adjust for the number on last page.  My number is very close to my port size.  Removed images sold are likely still in the sold list, might play small factor.

Wow...nearly half of my images at Fotolia haven't sold, compared to about 10% at IS and 25% at DT.  Using Lorraine's method, SS wins with about 7%.

Well, my numbers stink so suffice it to say that Fotolia is my worst site for this stat and is nearly three times as bad as SS which is my best site.  DT barely eked out a better number than IS for second place.

Interestingly, the numbers correspond very closely to my acceptance rates.  Low acceptance rate = low sales ratio (Isn't this called "Sell Through"?) for me.  This could be an indicator of the quality of reviewers.

Anyone else's numbers correlate this way?

PS: I have never removed any images.  Cannot imagine a good reason for doing so.
