I think he's only doing exactly what he was told to do over there.  In answer to your question both groups are useful but this one is by far the best with a really nice helpful group of people. Leaf who runs the group isn't very heavy handed but is there to step in if things get to out of order.

I like both groups.  They each offer something different. 

The yahoo group is kind of cozy like a group of friends chatting at someone's house. 

This group is kind of like being at a crowded party with many discussions going on all over.  You kind of have to look around for one that interests you.

Of course I suspect that hostile personal attacks and name calling would be frowned upon in either situation. 

I wouldn't have found this forum if it wasn't for that thread linked to above.

That said, I find web based forums a little easier to navigate.

Probably just a matter of cultural differences, then.  Many people I know pepper their conversation with the F word to the point where I don't even notice it anymore.  And I am American.  I understand from a number of british friends I have online that it is used even more commonly there. 

Guess tempers are running high on both sides.  I should probably not fan the flames

i've been a long time member of both groups and i find it very strange that someone comes along and posts to both groups asking in each group what they think of the other group. I think the normal behavior is to just join each group and participate in a positive way. I don't see how asking about other groups helps anyone much.

Everyone should refrain from calling names and talking negatively of other people.
