What if the poll showed all the agencies that don't get enough votes? And yes I know, some of these are closed for new or very difficult to get accepted, other possible issues. Just for What If? Name: # that's how many took the poll. We don't know how many IS exclusives are participating.

It's interesting, but of course if there was a rush to join e.g. ClipartOf, if it was allowed, all that would do would be to make the slices of ClipartOf's pie thinner.

Am I the only one that has no idea what these numbers mean? Clearly not the number of people on each agency, since I think we only have entire people, not decimal portions of them...? :)

Then how do I interpret "Shutterstock 86.7"? or "AdobeStock 47.1"? or any of the others with only a single number, which is not integral?

That's the 'score'.
Hover over the agency name (not iS exc) and you'll find the number of voters, which UnclePete quotes above.

If you look on the right, you'll see numbers for any agency that has over 50 votes. I only added the detail for the ones not appearing. That will be agency: votes - relative earnings. If you hover over any name on the right, you can see how many votes. Maybe next time, I'll spend the extra half hour and add the count for all of them? ;D
I'm happy that someone read and looked at the real ranks, even though the smaller votes/members are very limited in many ways.

Correct! Last I heard, many years ago was membership is closed. Kind of nice because then the base people, don't have a flood of competition doing just what you suggested, which would be diluting everyone's earnings. I think there are some others in there that people aren't going to run out and join, just because someone else has an established account. Or I should say, they shouldn't run out and join, because these are just numbers, not projections of future earnings for someone new.
Four people self-hosted are earning 3 times what the average person does on DT. 96 people voted for DT, I'm sure there are many more, while the self hosted four is interesting, that also takes time, money and a bunch more effort. Even if the cost of software is low, the cost for hosting and domain name are extra expenses.
Always one nice part of Microstock is anyone can take their future in their own choice of directions. I tried some different ideas and settled on two that I enjoy, more than the rest. None of those two includes cooking, sliced tomatoes or models. (to name just a few popular and common subjects that I'm not interesting in getting into competing with a world supply of the same.)
But over the years I'm sure folks have notice I advocate finding an interesting niche and concentrating on that.
Currently I contribute something to the top four, Alamy and DT. DT and IS could be removed any day I get bored. But like many have said, do nothing, take the money, why bother closing the accounts?

Always remember, just because one person makes good money or a couple of high earning people are making the agency average higher, that doesn't mean someone new should expect the same. However the chances are, your relative earnings will be close to the same. Meaning SS will earn around 8 times more than DP, 123, or Alamy.
Problem is different agencies, different buyers, different styles will get different results. I make at least ten times more on SS than Alamy. And 20 times more on SS than IS. 8) That has to do more with what I upload than the agency.
