What programs do you use in order to edit, manage keywords (description etc...)
So far i have been using Lightroom for my collection of photos and keywords.
Its really not efficient to use.

Is there a program out there that i could use to manage my workload, besides Lightroom?

What do you guys use for your workflow?

A friend of mine suggested me ProStockMaster.
Is anybody familiar with this program? Is it worth it?

I use photoshop for editing. Irfanview for IPTC data. Might not be the most efficient way, but I like it.

If you already use Photoshop for editing your photos, why don't you edit IPTC data with it?

Are there some advantages that I didn't see in using Irfanview?

Mmm I dunno. Irfanview is very quick to input data. Photoshop, being a huge program, does lag a bit more. Just a habit I suppose.

I go straight from the camera to Aperture to uploading to the sites, Aperture really does do it all.
Depending upon the camera, they may go through DXO pro first, then over to Aperture.

And having the Istock plug in in Aperture makes submitting  a breeze!
With the plug, you can do iStocks weird keyword thing and add the categories, press upload and off they go, don't even have to check anything on the site!

I'm like Kngkyle, I edit images in photoshop and use Irfanview for IPTC data.  When I learned I could do IPTC in photoshop I think I tried it and didn't like it as much as Ifrnaview.  Can't remember why, it's been a while.  I also tried StockProMaster but did not like it.  I used it to send an image to Fotolia to test it out and it somehow made Fotolia think that I had actually completed the editing.  In other words, when I went to Fotolia to set my categories and finalize it, it was in "pending review" status already (or whatever they call it there) and wouldn't allow me to change anything.  I don't know if maybe I did something wrong or if I had a buggy version but it turned me off of it and I never went back.  It might be a great program but I didn't really want to give it much of a chance after that.

Has IrfanView changed since last time I used it?

The thing that really bugged me about it was that each time I looked at a folder it had to create thumbnails for every image, which took an age.

Or was there something I missed. It was a good program, apart from that.

Unfortunately that is still a problem...  I agree, it takes a small forever for those suckers to generate.  I kick it off, go get something to eat and come back.   ;D

I use a combination of Exifer and Irfanview.  Most of the edition is in Exifer, but I add keywords in specific order in Irfanview (Exifer only adds at the end).  Exifer allows me to copy all info from another file, so it's very helpful in a series.  I don't however keep the EXIF data itself when I edit an image.

Adelaide
