Eyeem.com is a new agency that now sell a lot of big licenses by Getty network.
you upload there and they resell on Getty for you big licenses from 2 to 65 usd !
(I got 130 usd in few time with only 300 pictures online )

but it's still not supported in StockSubmitter, and they Eyeem doesn't read metatags automatically, so its very time consuming uploading there !

Eheh... of course yep! but contributing directly... to Alamy, Getty...
Some people surely want to avoid competing with themselves.

Eyeem isn't new at all and it's mainly a nice photo community not a stock agency.
Your sales are actually 10% from the real sale price at Getty.
If you want to submit to Getty than you end up with more money for you if you submit direct to Getty so at least you get 20% from the sale price. That said I like Eyeem very much, but unfortunately to this date as a stock agency they are mainly just a sub-agency for Getty.
To ask for Stocksubmitter support is senseless as Eyeem has a very different submission system and as you already noticed they don't support IPTC nor they do support FTP and it does make sense because they are a photo community in the first place and rely heavily on their smartphone app (you can submit via web but thats not their main thing).

Getty don't accept any more contributors, so the only way to get inside in by Eyeem

Most sales are for 2.00 USD, last year I had a few for more. Reviews have pretty much stopped, so I stopped uploading as well. No point adding new images, if they just sit there un-reviewed for weeks and weeks.

Why would anyone want to get into Getty? Just for 10% of 15% that is for 1.5%? Getty is the most disrespectful agency in regard to artists.

Uploading to Getty or offering them content on any way it means feeding that beast. So, no, Getty is not an argument for but against uploading to Eyeem.

Do EyeEm require exclusivity?

I suppose they have to if they sell through Getty

I've no idea about EyeEm, but all iStock photos (and vectors?), exclusive or indie, are available through Getty via their premium access scheme fka Getty Plus, fka Getty360.

It's a personal business decision. Everyone decides what to sell, where and for what.

Where do you read about 10% royalties?
Eyeem gives 50/50 to the author, and the Eyeem/Getty agreement is not public, I think

That is not a business decision it is an excercise in self abuse ~ do you think any other business on the planet would allow that to happen to them and still be in business?

The other problem with that statement is that YOU do not decide where and for what Getty do.

So if you choose to submit to eyeem, you don't actually know what percentage of Getty's take Eyeem gets, so you are getting 50% of ???
That's not a business 'decision', it's entering a great Lottery!

As I understand it, Getty recently announced to many of their 3rd party providers that if they want to keep their content on the Getty site they will have to accept a 15% royalty from Getty. A place like Eyeem, I'd imagine, would have pretty low bargaining power and would fall into this category. So assuming this is true, your 50% from Eyeem could actually be more like 7.5% of the actual sale price.

If Getty's as deep in debt as has been reported over the last few years, offering these sh*ty royalty rates may be their only chance to stay alive but it doesn't mean you have to accept their terms. As for Eeyem, Getty is the only real way they have to make any money. 7.5% of all sales might be good from their point of view because they aren't creating the product. They just collect the images that people give them, send them to Getty and then collect the payments.

At some point photographers need to be willing to step over the pennies and start looking for the dollars...if you know what I mean.

You're right :-) but it's perfectly normal, as it's exactly the same for all other agencies and their partnership. Who knows the company agreement?

I do. The only agency I'm uploading to ATM is Alamy, and I get 30% of distributor sales. I can also opt out of these if I choose.

Eyeem:

 :

- You Can,t attach model releases, must be signed the photos one to one via e-mail to the model (ridiculous)
- Yes, 7.5% is your part of the sale...
- Metadata must be write again... they dont read...
