I got to just laugh when I read this. There are many people here (and very successful ones) that have thousand of files much worse then this in their portfolio. This thing has been pushed so much out of proportion because of two files that have a reflection below them that to some people here think look fake, but nevertheless sell like crazy.

Please forgive my poor assistant that feels so bad about this whole thing and please do her the favor off actually downloading the file and see how precise and detailed she has done the isolation as well as putting the files on top of each other. I can understand why the file got accepted, because technically (besides the reflection) the file is excellent and it is not everybody that know what a correct reflection looks like. My assistant actually thought it was done the right way.

I unfortunately dont have time to micromanage all aspects of my business so things will go online that I have not always checked myself.

Anyway. We will remove the files and replace them with versions that have the reflection fixed. The reflection part is actually very easy to do compared to the time it takes to perfect the other aspect.

To the people posting this thread and the people supporting it. I am not angry at all, but I think there is room for a little more gentlemanship. Microstock is my workplace, and I would hate to see it be a place where we photographers point fingers at each other and try to find mistakes in each others work so we can publicly post this on forums. Constructive criticism is great, but that does not seam to be the motive of this post.

I really don't see why you should take this one down and fix it....it is selling so why fix it!

thanks for jumping in here Yuri.  I agree with you that this forum or other forums should not be a place where we can point fingers at each others mistakes.  It serves no one a good purpose and constructive criticism is of course usefull but generally is mentioned to the person and not on a public forum.

I had considered just stopping this thread all together but since the original post seemed to be as much of an awe or astonishment as apposed to critique i decided to leave it.  Also perhaps since you are a 'microstock celebrity' it goes with the territory that you, or at least your images would be talked about.

Nonetheless if you feel this thread is 'pointing figures' I think we should respect that at have it removed.  I think it is best if we all work together as apposed to 'picking' on each other.

.....and one more rule:

From now on, no one is allowed to pick on the MIZ anymore.
Just nice things about me are allowed....

Ahhhh now Miz, I'm sorry but that's asking just a little too much.

The reflection part is actually very easy to do compared to the time it takes to perfect the other aspect.

I think your assistant will hate you for this - artificially creating a real looking reflection of a perspective shot is hell of work, mostly in vain. Simply flipping and shearing a picture doesn't do the trick at all. There are always parts in the reflection which are invisible on the original object and vice versa, and that is what you simply can't simulate (and what immediately caught my attention when looking through the SS's TOP 50). :)

Once again: Please don't mind me starting this thread. And also once again: I really mean it when I say I admire you.

I would also settle for 10% of Yuri's income...

As for the photo mentioned in this original thread, yeah it's bad and it makes him look bad, it also highlights the problems with reviewers in microstock, it doesn't really matter whether he did it or one of his assistants it's his name that's at the bottom,...

As pointed out earlier it actually goes to prove that on SS buyers just download anything, I'd be interested to see if the image has ever been used.

so you're saying that reviewers , and / or buyers don't even look at the composition, just the name YURI ? ??? ??? ???

Unfortunately not, but that's exactly what you're up against. It's only one or two like schlocke, thesentinull and others that take enormous delight in discovering these sort of threads.

Again, yawn...  Almost, slightly, humorous.
