If you become an Image Source contributor:

- We will give you access to online royalty reporting so you can track your earnings 24/7 with regular updates on sales and royalties due.

- A broad network of distributors including the leading companies worldwide such as Adobe, Shutterstock, Getty Images, Dissolve and Pond5.

- You will be assigned a dedicated art director to share commercial and industry research to help you shoot saleable imagery. Your Art Director will also be a point of contact for collaboration, questions and inspiration.

- You will receive exclusive invites to our contributor workshops, held each year in London, Milan, Munich, New York and Los Angeles. Our workshops are the perfect opportunity to meet the team, network with fellow contributors and discuss tips and trends.

Commissions? Terms and conditions? And since when is "access to online royalty reporting so you can track your earnings 24/7" a unique selling point?

Interesting but I can already submit to Adobe, Shutterstock, Getty Images, Dissolve and Pond5 without a middle man.

It might get easier to submit trough them. Ultimately, it's high-end curating business they promote, while employing art directors instead of foreign cheep labor.

No idea is it worth it...just sharing.  8)

They don't make any direct sales,  they make plenty of tiny sales through distribution.

It's a real leeching system which I am not impressed with. I've been thinking of dropping them.

You get 40% of what they get. So you end up with tiny net sales.

That's good to know. Thanks.

Hello. Im Alex and I work at Image Source.

I just found this thread and wanted to follow-up to address your comments.

@Nodelhap Commissions and terms are available from our Art Directors and are in the welcome pack. Also, online reporting is something requested by many of our contributors because many smaller agencies still only issue monthly statements, hence why we note this as a benefit. We don't claim that it is unique but our contributors like it and we have invested heavily in making sure that they can gain access to their sales information 24/7 allowing them to plan and keep track.

@stockmn I appreciate that and theres no point changing something youre happy with. The value we add is building very positive relations with our distributors which can in turn produce better search grid exposure, dedicated marketing and customer insights. We also provide art direction to help produce more saleable content which can increase the likelihood of succesful productions and ease of submission as we grow our footage distribution network. We already have one of the largest, if not the largest, premium stock image distribution networks in the world.

@Dakota, Im sorry you see the Image Source model as leeching. We could not disagree more, the royalties we generate for our contributors range from single digit to many thousands depending on the license sold. Many of our contributors submit time and time again and that in itself is evidence of many of them being satisfied with their returns. We do sell images directly through our website, but we dont currently sell footage direct. I appreciate this model may not be suitable for all contributors, but weve served our photographers for 17 years. After all, were an independent agency part owned by photographers and was set up specifically to represent photographers and now filmmakers.

Alex,

I was with Image Source for many years and was invited in by Christina (in the days of transparencies) you did very well for me but I never got my transparencies back and things went silent when I spoke about them.

Can I PM you to get you to look into this for me and to find out what happened to my work?
