No, but after the response to the announcement with some very good arguments against such a strategy I will be very surprised indeed if they actually follow through with this plan. This will harm them big time and may even contribute to their demise. If they are smart they will abandon the idea.

If they had already done something like that you would know.
Chances are they wont like eco said, but at this point all bets are off.
Not that it will make things any better (for me at least)

I'm checking my clips' price everyday to make sure they don't do that stupid thing.

For real?  So, 4k clip is priced at $49 and also $49 for HD resolution of the same file?

Not the same files the HD and the UHD...
I`ll let them for a while to see how are sales and after I will rethink the price strategy if it`s bad and also speak with dissolve support. Sincerely I don`t konw what to do but leaving dissolve is not an option.

So they already priced your hd clips at 49?Was that from their part without asking you anything?

EDIT:Looks like this is happening already. Some of the newest clips there are at 49 already...

Why is leaving Dissolve not an option?

Because when you signed up there is a 5-year lock in with your clips. You want to leave 100%? You have to wait 5-years from your last upload. This is part of the thing driving the uproar. They are forcing you to leave you work there while they happily cannibalize your commissions.

I hardly believe that once you ask them to delete your account they will refuse.Looks like we might find out soon.

Just an FYI I already asked. They said no per their terms.

There are already several thousand 1080p clips on Dissolve at $49. . . This sucks.

Oh did they?
Well, in situations like these i find ridicule combined with full public disclosure to be truly wonderful weapons of mayhem.
We've lost either way but we can at least show that the king is naked. :)

The five year lock in is bizarre to the point of stupidity.  Contributors should have the right to leave at anytime.  Especially when the site changes it's TOS and pricing.

This contributor's clips have been priced at this level even before that infamous announcement.

With a port of 51,000 clips he may have negotiated a better royalty %

I can't find their terms, but in their response to me they say that their TOS DID NOT CHANGE, that those very terms allow them to do what they are doing. My claim was that they changed their TOS and I DO NOT ACCEPT those terms and, therefore, asked to close my account.

Just so you guys all know how they responded to me. Maybe they will change their position with this exposure.

Growth requires new material and lots of it. Lots of new material is contingent on a good relationship with those that produce the material. Even if my clips stay at $79 I see the potential for constant irritating changes like I experienced with FT and iS and I don't want anymore or that. Being locked into a 5 year deal means the agency needs to show exemplary character towards its contractors and not throw out crap like this do deal with right off the bat because they can. The TOS is useless when buyers ask why they can find much fresher material elsewhere and those buyers won't mind paying the higher rates. My trust in them is gone as it's gone in RevoStock.

Glad I trusted my instincts and didn't upload there then. Does anyone have a copy of their contract terms that they can post? Without signing up you don't really get access to it.

I don't understand how they can just change something as huge as that and not have to release people.

They will probably claim because the royalty PERCENTAGE hasn't changed, they can do whatever they want with their prices. However, this would mean they could drop prices to one dollar....

I am sure contributors signed the five year deal with the prices and royalty returns in mind when they signed up.

I am not a lawyer, but this looks like a change of the agreement to me.

But why involve lawyers? They could easily releasy anyone who wants to leave.

They can't be that desperate to hold onto the content, can they?

What about their reputation in the marketplace? Video is a much smaller world than photos and everyone is deeply connected.

The whole thing is just strange, like others have said, it looks like their business plan is not working.

Oh, I thought it was just that I couldn't find them.
That's a very worrying sign before you even start.  :(
