My pipe dream, as in it's never going to happen, is to have my own footage agency.  If i could put one together, I'd want it to be the best. what features and more would you want in the ideal footage agency?  thanks

A player that loops seamlessly. Fotolia has this, but the others introduce a gap which is really annoying when viewing loops.

70%+ cut.

Set our own prices.

Downconvert ProRes original 4k to ProRes HD instead of h264.

Fully embeddable library and better sharing options for social media.  And of course higher commission percentage.

The old Pond 5 before the changes.  Something that's things to all people, all types of content as to attract as many buyers as possible.

That's all we need, a replacement for the old Pond 5 simple as that.

Wonder what it costs these agencies for cloud storage, 5 million files on Pond, 71 million on SS, how do they even cover their costs of operating?. These clips aren't going for thousands of dollars.

I would like to see some numbers too, but we can assume it's incredibly expensive.

Do they use their own servers?  That would make it much cheaper.

Basically the old pond5.

The artist has full control over their portfolio, rejections only for technical and legal reasons.

Excellent gallery system, an easy overview over the artist portfolio, much better presentation options.

A real marketplace with free pricing or at least several pricing options.

Treat the artists as real entrepreneurs and work together with them to build a good sales plattform for everyone.

Either a minimum of 50% or a system with gradual royalty rise depending on how much money was made over the lifetime, like on SS. But 50% is fair trade and would be best.

Excellent curators who keep building and presenting beautiful galeries and keep combing the collection for new content. Maybe a higher minimum price for these special collections.

Active community with very positive and service oriented community builders.

None of this "upload to impress our employess" nonsense, instill the reality that the contributors are paying their salaries with their work and production costs.

A longterm committed management, from industry veterans, not financial investors who have no clue how the stock industry works and only have an investment horizon of 18 months.

50% or higher, maybe with achievable increases for multiple sales.
The ability to add descriptions to the clips.
The ability to upload zip files that contain additional items (like a matte for isolating elements or layered clips for motion graphics elements.
The ability to choose a frame number rather than auto generated preview images.
Set your own prices, or have price tiers that you can select, a bit like 123RF.
A profile page that you can customize with a logo, overview, portfolio etc.
Extended licenses.
Maybe bundles. Maybe not.
A nice web upload thing and not just FTP.
The ability to tag and describe/set up items while they're uploading
Reviews within a week or less.
A nice stats page with all the info you could want. Charts, breakdowns by clips, months etc.
Free drinks. Parties.

And of course connected to stockperformer from the start.

Also additional statistics into which country a file was sold, so we can see if localized content is acutally selling in the intended market.

A world map or good graphical interface to easily see which markets attract my customers, that helps me to design better content for them.

Statistics on which keywords attracted the client to the file.
