A comparison of footage sales between Adobe Fotolia and Shutterstock. Who is better?
My sales at Adobe Fotolia are practically at zero. At Shutterstock my footage sales are great. Others?

Same experience here

5 SS sale for each Adobe/Fotolia sale.
The tendency that I can observe from my minuscule point of view is that the other agencies, like Adobe/Fotolia and the newly active Pond5, are eating up SS primacy.
This event shuffles the cards but I cannot be sure the all sales that I lost in SS are going to be balanced by more sales in the other agencies

Our Fotolia:Shutterstock ratio in terms of revenue is about 1:2 for a few recent months.
I've noticed that Fotolia is quite a poor 4K seller, we had only 2 sales so far.
Things I definitely like about Fotolia are really fast reviews and relatively fast first video sales.
What are your prime subjects in footages?

For footage submission Adobe is definitely the better experience. Fast ftp and revue. Shutterstock has the slowest ftp in the industry.
For footage sales Shutterstock easily beats Adobe. Recently my Adobe sales have fallen (no idea why). Last month my SS sales were roughly x10 that of Adobe.
-
For me SS income is also around 10x Adobe/Fotolia.
-
SS! lightyears more sales then Adobe/ft. I also get the impression Adobe/ft havent really thought this through properly. Their video search is just horrendous.

At least Fotolia doesn't make messy search engine enhancements every week and makes difference between single and plural (if I'm correct). Today is the first day Fotolia has contributor site issues in months while Shutterstock's outages have almost weather forecast consistency.

My revenue ratio is 3:1 (SS:FT)
The most annoying thing about FT is lack of CSV importing feature...
-
I get two or three times more on SS.
-
Shutterstock is much higher but Fotolia sales are increasing nicely in the last few months.
-
same for me at ss sales are much higher.
But did you notice that Adobe Stock offer extended license on all videos at standard price?
-
our revenue on Fotolia are 10 times lower than on Shutterstock. We hardly sell anything in the past half year. Only good months were just after first big batch of files were uploaded and imported. Now even if we upload on regular basis, sales are low.
-
Here for the last month Adobe Fotolia beat SS. Ratio 2:1 (FT:SS) ;)
-
For me, my SS to Fotolia income ratio is 3:1, however, my SS income declined significantly in the last three months, while that on Fotolia is on the rise.
-
SS has always been my work horse: lots of sales and steady increase.
Since the beginning of the year it went into a deep coma: in January I got less than one third of what I usually get, same thing in February.
Very funny thing is that only one single file sells, over and over. The other minor slump I had was in October, and again I was only selling the same one file.
FT is doing decently and has beaten SS in January and is 3:1 compare to SS in February so far

Fotolia has been earning almost 4 times that of SS for me

me too, their fast footage review is very nice, really one-of-a-kind. Fotolia really seem to go out of their way to make this happen, despite the rather large number of submissions they seem to get. It's of little help though when they simply sell absolutely nothing, as in zero-zilch-nada (which is the case for me). I don't know what they're smoking and why they cannot do any meaningful pitching to image users or, at the very least, run other accompanying marketing efforts.
Seems to be quite typical of London-based loser outfits pocketing commissions without doing a darn thing for "their assets", as they call us. The very same thing happens with City recruiting agencies in the employment and specialist work contracting fields all the time. Seems to be some tradition in that rotten town of greed. (I really shouldn't be surprised, actually.)
Multiple other agencies -- including VideoBlocks! -- are faring a lot better with the exact same clips, so the problem is not really my content quality.
Meaning, the Adobe-Fotolia takeover thing obviously was not such a bright idea (very glad to see it's not working for them!), nor does their "integration" of Fotolia image search in Adobe's proprietary software packages have any effect whatsoever.
