Almost doubled compare to previous 12 months average. However, Shutterstock sales dropped yoy. At this pace, Fotolia/AdobeStock will surpass Shutterstock sales in a year or two. Is this the new trend? Finally Adobe figured out how to sell stock videos/photos? Adobe is supposed to have a huge advantage because all the creators who buy use Adobe softwares too.

Possibly I have experienced the 4th month in a row where my rolling average has gone up and am struggling to maintain my ranking. Adobe has never beaten SS in a month for me but is close this month. SS is actually reasonably static for me.

SS and Pond went down this month, but AS up. So, in the end, it is the same crap income. In other words, buyers are buying stuff elsewhere. At least thank god it is not SB.

809 Downloads for Sep 2018 vs 749 Downloads for Sep 2017 :)

OK, I think I can say that Fotolia/AdobeStock is gaining while Shutterstock is losing customers. Probably Adobe convinced some big production companies/TV stations to buy from them instead of Shutterstock.
-
I hope Adobe gains more and more steam!!!

Pond5 and SS at 12month high. Adobe 50% more than August, in term of $ Adobe not even half of what I get from Pond5/SS.
-
Big drop for me in September, so I'm assuming there wasa change to the search engine... looks like I missed out from the changes this time round!
-
I don't know why, but my sales stopped on Ft/As and my FT rank has dropped drastically to 22.300 :-[ :( Not even one video sale...
This has never happened to me..
On SS - BME....

$ were a little down this month after good jun/jul/aug. The first half of the month was very good with plenty of footage sales but the 2nd half was poor for footage sales. Vol seem to be the same as the 1st half, just a drop in high value sales. Just a blip maybe. Still way above SS.

I never sold well on Fotolia at all. As if they had forgotten to put my images on their website. Suddenly, in September, my images started selling. However, very, very big drop of sales on SS.

Adobe uses their software to integrate Stock, making it very easy for artists and designers to search and download images directly from within their software. Hit Ctrl-F in Photoshop and you can see the search for stock option right there, you don't even have to open the web browser, you just click the image and it's instantly in your PS composition.
They are a click away from their clients and can use very effective targeted advertising for their platform, while the other agencies still have to use traditional marketing and deals. I see a bright future for Adobe.

That is almost impossible at this side, SS is in free falling...

Nobody still likes my original post after many replies? Sad!! :'(

Same, Adobe/Fotolia used to be good, but suddenly stopped selling like normal.. Shutterstock on the other hand doubled sales x 3 the last months. Strange.

The last two days have been terrible (end of Sept wasn't great either), as in down from $40-$80 a day to $16. Don't know what they've done but it feels like it's time to put plan B into action and concentrate on RM now. Hoping this is just a short term blip but it ain't looking good. Certainly not going to spend any time submitting new content to them while there's no sign of improvement. Time is better spent on places that haven't slashed my income.

SS and Pond5 BME, Adobe and Storyblocks normal.
Just Storyblocks had half of the normal revenue...

OK, everybody has a different story it seems.

OK, everybody has a different story it seems.
Exactly so its not wise to draw sweeping conclusions from one person's/months performance though the site would be less fun if people didn't.

My Adobe sales have been going up, SS going down down down down. Unfortunately Adobe hasn't completely made up for lost sales at SS, but I do want to see them take the lead. Most of my sales at Adobe bring in 99 cents instead of the .38 at SS. My video sales are never less than $28 at Adobe and I've seen much higher.
I have spoken with people at Adobe and they are actually trying to bring the amount we earn back up to a viable range and they seem to have at least SOME understanding of what it takes to produce good images and the photo industry. They should, they make software for photographers. Shutterstock has had no clue since day one. Everything SS implemented when they opened and since then has been extremely destructive to the industry as a whole.
So I'm rooting for Adobe to take over the show and leave SS a distant memory. Then perhaps we can start bringing the industry back to some semblance of what it was before IS (when Livingstone started it at the same time SS opened) and SS pulled the rug out from under it.
I do believe SS priced images at what the founder believed images were worth. And if you look at Jon Oringer's portfolio https://www.shutterstock.com/g/shutterstock?search_source=base_gallery&language=en&page=1&sort=popular&measurement=px&safe=true (https://www.shutterstock.com/g/shutterstock?search_source=base_gallery&language=en&page=1&sort=popular&measurement=px&safe=true) you will see what I'm talking about (brace yourself, it's gonna hurt to look at these photos!). Of course buyers were thrilled to be getting photos for pennies instead of hundreds of dollars and some good photographers got rich in volume sales in the early days, but it wasn't sustainable.

For a company that didn't have a clue from day one they seem to have done OK.
If you think the industry is going to return to the days before SS and IS you are in for a disappointment I fear.
