Hi!

I just started out and I know I haven't uploaded a lot but I'd really appreciate some directional advice as I'm not so sure how to continue.

Here is my gallery: http://www.shutterstock.com/video/gallery/3580673/ (More clips coming in).  I have been considering muting a few of my clips and also looking over the keywords.

Thanks in advance :)

//Chris

They look nice to me. Sunset one is very nice.

The angle of the horizon would bother me though. They're not 'Dutch' enough to be 'Dutch angles', so they look a bit odd. Can you rotate them by a couple of degrees in your editing software? Maybe not these ones, but moving forward. And yeah, I'd probably ditch the audio, but that's just me.

Are you from Thailand? Was just there for a month, now in Cambodia. Doing the rounds!

Good clips! Try adding some camera movement or people/people silhouettes to some of them, maybe even yourself for a start. Don't expect them to sell right away, 1-3 months is quite usual awaiting, have some patience and shoot more like this.

Going by his name I would guess Sweden with 98.7% certainty.  :P

That being said, nice clips yeah, but you probably won't sell much of those since there are so many just like them that have been around for years gathering sales and search engine exposure.

I have many shots from Thailand, Malaysia etc. and sell some here and there but mostly wildlife shots.

Irina Anosova: Thanks so much, I needed to hear that and I will try with people for sure 8)

SpaceStockFootage: Sweden yes... I will look in to that!

Rose Tinted Glasses, increasingdifficulty: Agreed... I'm not a big fan of posting ordinary travel videos either, I mean I'd love to upload something different and unique. I was thinking about doing some urban exploration footage. Anyone got any experiences?

Is a pretty good start.
I can image that you come from photography. You have quite a good idea for composition, but video is very much different from photo: you have to look for situations that have movement, or else create it with camera movement (less interesting in my opinion).
The kind of image you have would be more interesting as time lapses than video.
Anyway, a good start and the colours look very good

Exactly (although I don't think camera movement is less interesting, quite the opposite).

For example, your "Beach Hut Ocean View" clip is now mostly usable as a background for someone to animate some small characters or text on, BUT, if you had shot it with a drone or steadicam going THROUGH the hut and out toward the ocean it would be a really cool clip usable as a "wow" effect in any travel/lifestyle commercial.

Smooth forward, backward or side movement is very effective when shooting landscapes or other mostly static scenes like a hallway or house interior. Panning and tilting looks a bit dull in my opinion but is of course usable too, but much less wow...

That is exactly what I meant, but you expressed it better: I was referring to panning or tilting with a camera fixed on a tripod, not very interesting.
But of course if you have a slider, a dolly, or even better a drone, then you can add very interesting movement
