A quick question about video.

I have a 5dMkII and have never really used it for video.

One of the few videos I have taken has sensor spots, (I know I should clean my sensor)

Is there a way to "clone out" sensor spots like you would in a photo ?

Yes, for example in After Effects. The clone tool is similar to the one in Photoshop.

You probably know it already but lower F numbers (5 and below, my experience) will also avoid sensor spots.

Furthermore, if you have Photoshop CS5 (might be extended version) you can edit videos frame by frame there.

Every time I turn my 5DII on the spots are at different places. Sensor cleaning = dirt shifting. Cheesy

I gave up using the 5DMKII for video. My 550D has never had a noticeable dust spot, I change lenses lots in dusty places and all my previous cameras have spots everywhere.

+1 that's pretty much my experience. After Effects seems to work quite well for sensor spot removal though, so it is fixable.

I don't want to spend $999 on After Effects to get rid of sensor spots. Hopefully Canon will fix the problem with the 5DMKIII.

PF Clean can do that with "Dust clean" plugin or Nuke with Foundry plugin. But it is very expensive and it will cost you like few Canon 5D MkII.

I think I'll just stick with my 550D. I would like to use the 5D but I really don't want to spend more than $50 to fix this problem. There's already far too much for me to spend my money on and I like to keep the software budget to a minimum.
